The Beatles' first ever visit to the US will be honored by the New York Port Authority with an historical marker at JFK Airport.
It has been 50 years since The Beatles crossed the pond in an attempt to break into the US music industry. Well, calling them a success is quite an understatement, 5 decades later the boys from Liverpool have arguably one the one of the most coveted legacies ever.

So to commemorate their success in the US, the New York Port Agency are going to unveil a historical marker at the location the band first arrived on American soil- JFK International Airport. Rolling Stone reports, the maker will be unveiled in a ceremony at JFK's Central Terminal Area, which is the same place The Beatles gave their first US press conference.
This latest tribute is the latest to join a long list of upcoming events to celebrate The Beatles 50th anniversary of their celebrated appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, which is responsible for introducing the band to the stateside audience.
This coming Sunday (Feb 9th), CBS will broadcast a TV special titled 'The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles.'
The 2-hour long show is a concert that took place last month, featuring rare performances from The Beatles only surviving members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as a whole other array of music's biggest stars.

Tributes were given from from Pharrell Williams, Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, Dave Grohl, Alicia Keys, and many more stars who were at the Grammy Awards the night before also performed live.
McCartney and Ringo joined the stage together to play their huge tracks, 'Hey Jude' and 'With A Little Help From My Friend,' as well as honoring their deceased band mates, John Lennon and George Harrison.
