The Beatles have been named the U.K.'s biggest-selling singles act as part of a study into the 60-year history of the pop charts.
The Fab Four beat Elvis Presley and Sir Cliff Richard into second and third place, respectively, on the new countdown, which was announced on Monday (04Jun12) by bosses at the Official Charts Company.
Madonna and Michael Jackson round out the top five.
The Beatles landed at number one on the list with 17 number one singles.
