The Hollywood actor recalls the casino's reaction to him becoming a "decent blackjack player."
In April of this year, Ben Affleck was removed from a Las Vegas casino after he was put under investigation for reportedly counting cards, and now the Hollywood star has finally opened up about the incident, which he thinks has been blown out of proportion.
Affleck was kicked out of a Las Vegas casino in April
In a very candid interview with October's issue of Details magazine, Affleck confesses that he does count cards, and recalls getting caught in the act by the Hard Rock Casino's security over four months ago.

Ben Affleck has admitted he did count cards at a US casino.
Well, that's a first, a celebrity willingly admitting they've been cheating! ...At cards, that is. Ben Affleck has admitted that he was counting cards whilst playing Blackjack, hence his ejection from a Las Vegas casino earlier this year.
Affleck previously played down the reports about him being ejected from a casino
NY Daily News reports on Affleck's new interview with Details magazine, where he confirms that the rumours which have swirled for the past few months are true, in a roundabout sort of way. "That is a true story," Affleck said. "I took some time to learn the game and became a decent blackjack player. And once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack."

Ben Affleck can relate to Batman's rage.
Ben Affleck, who will play Batman in Zack Synder's forthcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, says he can relate to the Caped Crusader's anger management issues. Speaking to the Sunday Times, the actor said the hero's famous rages are a "necessity" in the tradition of the films.

Are Scoot McNairy socks a green screen for The Flash? Or just a weird fashion statement?
With Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman all making solid appearances in 2016's 'Batman v Superman' movie, we can't help but wonder who else will be joining the Justice League. Right now, our bets are on Scoot McNairy as The Flash.
Scoot McNairy to play The Flash?
The casting announcements for Zack Snyder's 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' have been both thoroughly exciting and extremely surprising. Of course, we knew Henry Cavill would return as the Man of Steel, we spent hours pondering who could play Wonder Woman before Gal Gadot was chosen and we were pleased on the announcement of Ben Affleck taking over Christian Bale as the Dark Knight. Rumours are still circulating that Jason Momoa might be joining the team as Aquaman, but the thing we're most excited for at the moment are recent whispers of Scoot McNairy taking on The Flash.
'Gone Girl' is coming.
David Fincher's Gone Girl has been billed as the season's 'darkest thriller'. It stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne - a man juggling two campaigns: one to find his missing wife, and the other to prove his own innocence. Based on Gillian Flynn's bestselling crime thriller, the movie is probably the most anticipated of the year and Entertainment Weekly caught up with its lead star to discuss preparing for one of the darkest roles in Hollywood.
Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne in 'Gone Girl'
"It wasn't something I had to do a lot of research for," Affleck said, "I knew what it was like to have the tabloid world paying attention to me and ascribing negative motivations to whatever I might be engaging in. I knew what it was to be cast in a soap opera I had no control over."

Marvel stayed strong and Warner Bros. moved first and changed the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice release date to March 2015.
The collaboration of Batman and Superman, two of DC Comics most intense superheroes, has been a project highly anticipated for fans all over the globe for some years now. With Batman’s tortured past and complex present depicted magnificently in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy and Superman’s difficulties in combining his Krypton heritage and his life on Earth given dramatic integrity in Zack Synder’s Man of Steel, in the film which combined the two, the stage was set for a motion picture filled with complicated emotions, spectacular drama and a lot of action.
The collaboration of DC Comics Batman and Superman has been widely anticipated
But perhaps, when fans were dreaming of this dynamic duo and the endless possibilities that the pairing and film could bring, they did not anticipate the rise of Marvel and its own brand of exciting and enthralling superheroes.
Batman v Superman has been brought forward, to avoid a battle with 'Captain America 3'.
Warner Bros has brought forward Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - the follow-up to Man of Steel with Ben Affleck playing the Caped Crusader - to March 25, 2016. The movie had previously been set to open on May 6, 2016 - the same day as Marvel's 'Captain America 3'.
In truth, those dates were never going to remain fixed and it was Warner Bros that decided to make the first move (though it's likely the studios came to a mutual agreement). The studio has also revealed plans to release new DC Comics-based movies on August 5, 2016, June 23, 2017, November 17, 2017, March 23, 2018, July 27, 2018, April 5, 2019, June 14, 2019, April 3, 2020 and June 19, 2020.

His casting as the new Batman may have ruffled a few feathers, but Ben Affleck has just earned the seal of approval from one very important man: the original caped crusader, Adam West.
There are still two years to go before we see Ben Affleck take on the mantel of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but the argument about the Oscar winner's suitability for the role rages on. Today one very worthy commentator gave his thoughts on the subject- Adam West, who played Batman from 1966 to 1968 in a staggering 120 episodes of the eponymous television series as well as the 1966 film.

Speaking at San Diego Comic Con, West had only compliments for his successor. "My feeling is that Ben Affleck will be really good simply because he's a great talent, and I'd be very interested in seeing him in the role."

Fincher's thriller kicks of the N.Y.C film fest
The hotly anticipated thriller from David Fincher, Gone Girl, has been selected to open the New York film festival. This isn’t the first time Fincher has opened the festival, kicking proceedings off in 2010 with The Social Network. Ding ding! The gloves were off in the land of showbiz this week as squabbles broke out, feathers were ruffled and tensions arose.
Seth Rogen Vs. North Korea: Seth Rogen should be feeling a little nervous right now. The actor and funnyman, who is preparing for the fall release of new movie The Interview, has been threatened after North Korea issued an official complaint to the UN. The shady country raised its hackles over the plot of Rogen's new movie, which depicts a plot to kill dictator Kim Jong-Un. This is unbelievable. If you want to thumb your nose at the Supreme Leader, go giggle at the poster - it's hilarious.
George Clooney Vs. The Daily Mail: George Clooney should only have seating arrangements and wedding cake tasting on his mind at the moment but the Gravity actor has had to engage in battle with The Daily Mail over comments the tabloid made alleging that the mother of Clooney's fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, was not happy with her daughters upcoming nuptials on religious grounds - a claim the actor has called a "lie." Clooney got angry, the Mail apologised, Clooney got angrier.
Nick Dunne finds himself at the fore of a police investigation when his wife Amy mysteriously goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary. He has mixed emotions about the whole thing as he enlists volunteers to help find her; their marriage has been on the rocks after he lost his job and dragged Amy away from New York to open a new business. Their relationship was often volatile, further implicating his involvement in her disappearance. A part of him is not so worried about her; he knows how manipulative and deceitful she can be, but unfortunately his lack of visible devastation on TV goes solidly against him for those who are sure he's killed her. As it turns out, he's not so honest either and things come to a head when it turns out that every person in this story has a secret.

Your weekly dose of Justice League news. With the release date two years away, Warner are beginning the steady stream of teasers.
Hello, remember that ill-advised attempt at a Justice League franchise Warner Bros. is still pushing at? If so, then you may be interested in seeing a sneak peek at Henry Cavill, being his Supermanliest in the upcoming movie. The photo comes almost two months after director/Hollywood golden boy Zack Snyder tweeted the first picture of an oh-so-moody Ben Affleck as Batman. This time, it’s an oh-so-moody Cal-El. Check out the photo below.

The first official, bona fide, straight from the horse’s mouth, genuine image from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has arrived, and it sees Henry Cavill as the caped superhero once more.
He’s standing fully clad in his Superman gear, looking into the camera with a forlorn expression. The whether is pretty terrible; maybe that’s got something to do with it. Or maybe he’s waiting to meet Batman.
The keen fans amongst you will have already noticed that Metropolis probably isn’t the city in the background. No, what we’re looking at is likely director Zak Snyder’s first attempt at Gotham City.
A simple, candlelit meal out was enough for Ben and Jennifer to show that they love each other.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner celebrated their nine year anniversary in Detroit on Sunday (29th June). The Hollywood couple have been spending time in the city as Affleck films his upcoming blockbuster movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Instead of jetting back to L.A. to celebrate their anniversary in the company of their celebrity friends, the couple chose to roll out a little old school romance and go on an intimate dinner date to a local Detroit restaurant, Bistro 82, a fine-dining establishment in Detroit.
Justin Near of Near Perfect Media, which represents the bistro's AFB Hospitality Group, spilled the beans on the couple's appearance, saying that they arrived in the early evening and stayed for an hour before going on elsewhere. "A lot of people did a double take," Near told ABC News. "It was just the two of them, just like any other couple celebrating their anniversary."
The Hollywood couple enjoyed an intimate meal at a French cuisine in Detroit, Michigan, this past Sunday (June 29th).

The cast of the 2016 movie - and a possible "Justice League" - is shaping up.
It has been confirmed: DC now has its Aquaman and it’s none other than Jason Momoa. The news that Momoa will play the DC Comics superhero Aquaman in both the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and its sequel Justice League was confirmed by Variety, after months of heavy speculation.
Momoa cleverly brushed off the Aquaman rumors, right until his contract was confirmed.
Back in December, it was reported that Momoa was in talks to play Aquaman, in addition to the already announced main cast, which includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor (that announcement raised a fair few eyebrows) and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.
Daredevil has a new face - and that face is unusually English.
Meet your new Daredevil – Charlie Cox. The Boardwalk Empire has been hired by Marvel/Netflix to portray Matt Murdoch, the blind lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen and his horned alter ego, according to the LA Times. So we can all move past the Ben Affleck incident already.
So can Cox pull it off?
Murdoch’s other most memorable role was in the Neil Gaiman adaptation Stardust, but the 31-year-old actor is otherwise new to the fantasy genre and certainly new to the Marvel universe. The entertainment powerhouse is currently expanding its media presence even further with four upcoming Netflix series, including ones centered around Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and of course, Daredevil.
'The Justice League' are coming, but who exactly are they?
The subtitle for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman movie has been officially announced as Dawn of Justice, meaning it's pretty clear where this one is going. We already knew that a Justice League movie was next on Snyder’s list, but the subtitle certainly implies that this movie will serve as a set up for the fourth instalment. But who are the Justice League and why should we be excited to see them together on screen?
Justice League director, Zack Snyder
Superhero collectives don’t get much bigger than The Justice League, that is, if you ignore the Avengers. But for DC Comics, The Justice League has been their ultimate team of superheroes since the 1960s.
Ben Affleck's Batsuit and Batmobile are here, but what do we really think?
Finally we’ve able to feast our eyes on Ben Affleck’s Batsuit and well, was it worth the wait? In the black and white photo tweeted by director Zack Snyder a bulky Ben can, for the first time, be seen as the caped crusader, though he doesn’t look to happy about it. Sad Batman memes aside, Affleck probably will be cracking a smile soon as he might just have exceeded our expectations with his new look.
Will that tarp come off tomorrow?
Ben Affleck took a lot of criticism when he was announced as the new Batman, but it’s all looking worth it now that the company car is ready for collection. Zak Snyder gave us all a sneak peak on Twitter, and the reaction to the new Batmobile has been wholly positive, it seems.
Superman will be taking on Batman in the sequel to 'Man of Steel' (pictured above)
“Could be time to pull the tarp...Tomorrow?” wrote Snyder, who is directing the film dubbed ‘Batman v Superman’, the follow up to Man of Steel which is set to feature the hugely anticipated battle between the two superheroes.

Turns out it wasn't his lucky night after all.
Ben Affleck might seem like the general “nice guy” type, but he has a few tricks up his sleeve. Affleck has reportedly been banned from the Hard Rock Las Vegas Casino (well, the blackjack table anyway), after he was caught counting cards. According to the New York Daily News, the Argo director was playing blackjack, when his lucky streak attracted the attention of a security guard.
Affkeck's unusually lucky night caught the attention of a casino security guard.
“You are too good,” the guard told the Oscar-winning star Monday night at the casino’s high-rollers’ blackjack table, according to a source for The News. Then, in a rather embarrassing turn for Affleck, he and his wife were shuttled back to their hotel by a car, ordered by the casino’s management. Affleck and actress wife Jennifer Garner were in Sin City for a romantic getaway before Affleck starts filming his “Batman” reboot in Los Angeles and Detroit.
The casino Ben Affleck was allegedly banned from following rumours of card counting has released a statement in which they stated Affleck was not barred from their resort and is "welcome back any time."
Ben Affleck is not banned from playing blackjack at a Las Vegas casino, contrary to reports which suggested Affleck had been asked to leave the establishment after he was discovered counting cards.
According to reports on RadarOnline, Affleck was allegedly caught counting cards at two Vegas casinos and an APB (all-points bulletin) was sent out to all casinos to be weary of the Good Will Hunting actor. Allegedly, the bulletin made casinos aware of Affleck's presence in Vegas and related the incident in which he was apparently caught counting cards. A note on the bulletin stated Affleck "has been observed playing blackjack at multiple Las Vegas Strip properties, and is suspected of moving his wagers with the count. He was reportedly backed off at one off-Strip casino."

The incident occurred, according to reports, on April 28th when Affleck was playing blackjack at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. Allegedly, Affleck was told by security he had to stop playing immediately. Affleck was visiting Vegas with his wife Jennifer Garner at the time of the alleged incident. Another casino also allegedly banned Affleck, namely the Wynn Properties resort.
Whilst card counting is not illegal, it is unacceptable in gambling establishments and casinos employ both security and specialist recognition software in order to prevent it. Affleck was allegedly using his chip stack as a means of counting the cards, a common technique professional gamblers use, according to reports in the San Jose Mercury News.

However, these reports may have been exaggerated as both casinos have denied any ban. The Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas released a statement which reads: "Mr Affleck, a value guest of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, is not banned from our property and is welcome back any time." The other casino in question has also denied barring Affleck from their establishment.

"Project Greenlight was ahead of its time," Affleck said. "Now that technology has caught up to the concept, we thought it was a perfect time to bring it back. A whole new generation of filmmakers has grown up sharing everything, and the next big director could be just an upload away," via Deadline.
The actor has a minor part in Batman Vs. Superman, to be expanded later in the series.
The Batman vs. Superman movie casting may have had comic book fans on the brink of desperation up until now, but it looks like Zack Snyder and Co. may have gotten one thing right. Meet your new Cyborg – Ray Fisher. Now, Fisher is primarily a stage actor, although that has been known to work for past superhero movies and he has been cast as Victor Stone. That’s all we know at this point, according to Variety. Early reports claimed that Fisher was being considered for a part in Snyder's Star Wars Episode VII, but it looks like he was transferred to another big-budget Snyder production.
Fisher's background is mostly theatrical.
The character has a minor role in Batman vs. Superman, but this casting and Fisher’s appearance are intended to pave the way for future appearances by the superhero within the Justice League franchise that Warner Bros. is setting up for. A little background on Cyborg: the character made his first appearance in 1980's "DC Comics Presents" #26. In the "New 52" continuity, he's a high school athlete who, after getting caught in a S.T.A.R. Labs explosion, is given powerful bionic abilities that lead to him becoming a founding member of the Justice League.

Richard Butler covers 'She' on the 'Gone Girl' trailer and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross mark their third David Fincher soundtrack collaboration.
Trent Reznor teams up with Atticus Ross once again for the soundtrack to upcoming book-to-film thriller 'Gone Girl' directed by David Fincher; the new trailer features the song 'She', covered by the The Psychedelic Furs frontman Richard Butler.
Trent Reznor [R] and Atticus Ross [L] landed an Oscar for 'The Social Network' score
The Nine Inch Nails singer broke the news over Twitter in January that he and producer Ross will mark their third collaboration on a Fincher film with Gillian Flynn's 'Gone Girl'. Starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, the movie tells the story of a struggling married couple, whose fifth anniversary is marred by the disappearance of Nick Dunne's wife Amy and the subsequent suspicions over his involvement in her possible murder.
Nick and Amy Dunne are a couple whose marriage is struggling following the loss of Nick's journalism job and their subsequent move away from New York City. Nick sets up a new business to support them, but nothing seems to be cutting the tension between them as their relationship gets more and more fractured. When Amy goes missing on their fifth anniversary, a series of suspicious circumstances point him out as the prime suspect in a possible murder investigation; though he denies any involvement in her disappearance, we are left questioning everything he says when his true, deceitful nature starts to shine through. However, it soon becomes clear that he's not the only dishonest character in this tale as nobody is quite what they're making out to be.

The trailer for 'Gone Girl' is pretty creepy! What does it tell us about the upcoming movie and will fans of the book be impressed?
We’ve been waiting for the Gone Girl movie to come out, well, practically since the book did. The best-selling thriller was an international sensation, while the film is currently in post-production, due out in October later this year. There's going to be a lot of discussion over this movie in the months to come, you don't adapt such a popular novel without a lot of debate over pretty much everything.
Ben Affleck stars as Nick Dunne in Gone Girl
Thankfully, the trailer has finally been released, but does it live up to our expectations? The answer to that is a big fat YES! And then some. So, let’s take a look at it in a bit more detail. Playing over the solemn opening vigil is Richard Butler’s version if Elvis Costello’s ‘She’. The lyrics “She may be the face I can’t forget, a trace of pleasure or regret, may be my treasure of the price I have to pay” drift eerily over shots of Nick Dunne, played by Ben Affleck, addressing a crowd who have gathered in the hope of finding his missing wife, Amy, played by Rosamund Pike. Amy has mysteriously disappeared, their home shows traces of a struggle, but Nick denies knowing anything about where she may have gone.

Does the trailer actually give away anything we didn't already know?
The first trailer for David Fincher’s Gone Girl is out. The last bit of news about the Gillian Flynn adaptation came out months ago, so the trailer provides a helpful reminder that A. The project is still moving ahead and B. It looks quite good at this point. Ben Affleck plays Nick Dunne, whose wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary. Nick soon ends up as the primary suspect in the police investigation and has to find his wife to prove his innocence.
The first trailer gives us very little to go on.
The new trailer emphasizes the investigation and the pressure that Affleck’s character feels as the suspicion falls squarely on him. It also seems to feature Amy’s lifeless body, meaning that Nick will face a murder investigation at some point in the film. The trailer also plays up the barrage of media attention that Nick and the investigation attract, so this will probably be a prominent subject in the film.
Have we missed something?
“I did not kill my wife!” exclaims Ben Affleck in the first official trailer for David Fincher’s Gone Girl. “I am not a murderer.” Problem is, the trailer looks like a fan-made video, and could well be the worst thing we’ve seen this year. What’s going on?
Affleck stars as Nick Dunne in the movie. He’s an ostensibly nice guy – a workaday husband looking forwarding to building a family. The American dream. But, coming home on day, he discovers his wife, Amy Dunne (played by Rosamund Pike), is missing.

Naya Rivera and Big Sean have called time on their engagement (and apparently he's telling time on her Rolex). These other once engaged celebs also never made it down the aisle.
The most shocking break up news of the week goes to Glee star Naya Rivera and now ex-fiancee Big Sean. The pair have called it quits amid rumours of infidelity and Rolex theft. Naya tweeted “@bigsean stealing rolexes from a lady’s house now. Maybe cuz I’m on Glee and making more money or something. #triflin.” Although the tweet was quickly removed, the plot is definitely thickening.

These others celebs also decided to end their very high profile engagements, although none of them accused each other of stealing expensive watches. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck AKA Bennifer were a bit of an odd couple to even begin with. In 2003 the couple were involved in an extremely high profile relationship, going so far as to co-star in a couple of god awful movies. The engagement was broken off in 2004, allegedly because Ben wasn’t ready to give up single life. Which makes sense because a year later he married Jennifer Garner. Burnnnnn.

There's nothing we love more than finding out when celebrities are best friends, some of them aren't a secret, others will blow you away. We bet you never knew about Bette Midler and 50 Cent's budding best friendship...
Unlike Jennifer Lawrence and her rather normal best friend, Laura Simpson, celebs often pick other famous people to have as their BFFs. They all probably bump into each other at so many events that it’s difficult not to end up practically joined at the hip. Some of these celebrity BFFs you’ll already know about, some you’ll be totally surprised to hear have even met! The phrase chalk and cheese comes to mind.
Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston have been BFFs since their Monica and Rachel days. The pair have seen each other through weddings and divorces, children and various film/TV projects. “We just have fun, we laugh, we’re inseparable and it’s great”, Cox said of Aniston, while her best friend in turn dubbed her “the most dependable and loyal”. Mutual appreciation society, or what? We love it! That's how all best friends should talk about each other in our opinion.

Gwyneth Paltrow had high profile relationships long before she met Chris Martin.
We were all surprised when Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their separation by way of a post on Paltrow’s Goop website on Tuesday evening. The couple, who have been married for 10 years and had two children together announced they were ‘consciously uncoupling’, and thus the showbiz world began mourning another high profile couple. But for Gwyneth a high profile split is nothing new, actually she’s had her fair share of famous romances.
Gwyneth Paltrow has announced her 'uncoupling' from Chris Martin
Before there was Chris and before there was Angelina, Hollywood’s hottest couple was Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow. Although now the two might seem like an unlikely pairing, back in the mid nighties they were the hot couple of the moment. These two set out to define the era for star couples, sporting matching cropped blonde hair and sometimes even matching outfits, (too far). They even got engaged! Although they might have seem like a young Hollywood dream come true, sadly it wasn't to be and they split in 1997 after three years of dating. Gwyneth would later take responsibility for the break up, telling Diana Sawyer ‘My kind of internal stuff really tripped up that whole relationship and I felt really responsible, and also like I was the architect of my own misery … I just made a big mess out of it.’.
Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill are set to play Batman and Superman respectively, but what else do we know about the Batman vs. Superman movie?
Star Wars Episode VII isn’t the only movie currently shrouded with mystery and dogged by rumours. Batman vs. Superman still remains an enigma to us, but we’ve done some investigation and managed to pool together what we know so far about the movie.
it has been confirmed that Henry Cavill will reprise his Man of Steel role and slip back into his very clingy superhero suit to play Superman (won't hear any ladies complaining there), although Christian Bale won’t be following (in his Batman) suit. Ben Affleck is billed to take over from Bale and don the Dark Knight cape. Website Movie Pilot is claiming that Affleck’s Batman will be forty years old and retired from superheroism. Since his retirement Batman has accumulated his gang of super pals, NightWing, BatWing, BatGirl and RedRobin. Batman’s best known sidekick, Robin, will allegedly have been killed by The Joker, who had returned to Gotham after the events of The Dark Knight Rises.

Harris revealed the clinical approach to sex in David Fincher's 'Gone Girl.'
Neil Patrick Harris has opened up on his new role in David Fincher's adaptation of the best-selling novel, Gone Girl. The How I Met Your Mother actor takes on the role of Desi Collings in the movie, alongside Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck. In a recent interview with Out magazine, the openly gay actor described the experience of filming his sex scene with Pike.
Neil Patrick Harris Has Discussed His "Robotic" Sex Scene With Rosamund Pike In 'Gone Girl.'
Harris described director Fincher's meticulous approach to filming the intimate scene, though interestingly enjoyed methodical aspect to the scene. Instead of finding Fincher's highly structured directing style awkward or frustrating, Harris loved it. "We had to rehearse the sex scene with David, like every inch of it - 'Then you put your mouth on his d**k here, and then this number of thrusts, and then you ejaculate,' " recalls Harris.

Alfonso Cuaron looks like a firm favourite to take home the Academy Award for Best Director when the Oscars roll around this March. The Gravity director was given the top gong at last night's (25 Jan.) Directors Guild Of America Awards, an honour than can only heighten his chances of taking home Hollywood's top prize in a few weeks.
In only seven instances in the DGA Awards' 66 year history has the Best Director Oscar gone to someone who has not won the top honour for directors, with the last instance of this happening coming last year when Ben Affleck won the award, but was not even nominated for the Best Director category at the Oscars for his work on Argo. According to Oddschecker.com, Cuaron is the odds on favourite to take home the Best Director gong in March's ceremony, with 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen his nearest competitor.

The NIN frontman and his soundtrack collaborator are re-teaming once again to score Fincher's next picture
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will once again be working with director David Fincher when the pair join up in the studio to write the soundtrack to the upcoming movie adaption for Gone Girl. The Nine Inch Nails frontman revealed that he will be working with Ross once again via his official Twitter feed on Tuesday, 21 January.
Trent Reznor [L] and Atticus Ross [R] won a bevy of awards for their work on The Social Network and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
This will be Reznor and Ross' third major collaboration together, having last worked on the score for Fincher's adaption of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in 2012. A year earlier, the pair worked together to score Fincher's The Social Network, earning an Academy Award for their work on the original score. The pair also scored a Grammy nomination for best original score for visual media for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but failed to win anything as major for that film as they had previously.

The actor's wife, Jennifer Garner, promised that we'll all be blown away by the re-imagining of the Batsuit for the upcoming movie
Ben Affleck will become the latest actor to portray Batman when he appears in the sequel to last year's Superman blockbuster Man of Steel. Ahead of his appearance as the Caped Crusader, Affleck's wife Jennifer Garner has revealed that she has already had a glimpse at the Batsuit her husband will be sporting in the 2016 sequel, calling it "unbelievably cool" and a "total reinvention" of the famous outfit.
Affleck and Garner previously appeared together in spandex for Daredevil
"I don't think I could get him out of the suit," Garner told Entertainment Tonight recently, joking that her husband has been put on lockdown so he can't wear the suit all of the time. She continued, "I've seen the suit. It's unbelievably cool. It's a total reinvention, it looks great."

'Gone Girl' has an impressive cast and crew, though can it deliver with the book's fanbase already sharpening their knives?
David Fincher is renowned for some of the biggest film names of the past twenty years, including Se7en, The Social Network, Fight Club and Panic Room just to name a few. Some of these films changed the very ideology of what makes a great film; and brought something new to the chess board of movie ideas. October 2014 will see the release of an adaptation of Gillian Flynn's New York Times bestseller Gone Girl.
Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne in David Fincher's 'Gone Girl'
The book's plot is a controversial tale of lies and deceit between the two narrators; husband and wife Nick and Amy Dunne. The book has sold over two million copies worldwide, and is highly acclaimed in the eyes of its readers.
The 'Superman vs. Batman' movie has been put on hold for 9 months
It seems as though we'll have to wait a bit longer to see Ben Affleck in tight spandex pants, sharing screen time with Henry Cavill's equally tight spandex pants. DC were looking to launch their own multi-hero film franchise with the release of the Man of Steel sequel, working under the title of 'Superman vs. Batman,' in July 2015, however a recent announcement from the studio has said we'll have to wait a little longer.
The first Man of Steel was a hit and the sequel promises to be even bigger
Warner Brothers revealed on Friday (17 Jan.) - via The Hollywood Reporter - that it planned on holding back on the Man of Steel sequel until 6 May, 2016, with the studio's prequel of Peter Pan - titled Pan - replacing the initially planned 17 July, 2015, release date. The studio did not give any reason as to why the films were trading release dates, however has been suggested that Warner Bros. wanted a May release for the superhero film owing to the month's tendency to yield higher box office returns in recent years.

10. The Expendables 3 (Aug) - Hopefully this meathead action romp will be the guilty pleasure of the year. Other muscle-bound, brainless thrills may come from Pompeii (Feb), Tarzan (May) and Hercules (Aug).

Warner Bros. hope Chris Terrio will sprinkle some 'Argo' magic on Batman versus Superman.
Warner Bros. is bringing in the big guns for the Man of Steel sequel Batman versus Superman. The studio has hired Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio to write another draft of the untitled superhero movie.
Chris Terrio With His Big Fat Oscar
Terrio has a strong relationship with Ben Affleck - who will play Batman - following their Oscar winning hostage drama.
The actor could be set to appear in a superhero action movie.
Joaquin Phoenix could be the next actor to be announced for the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman movie, scheduled for 2015. The movie will see Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman go head-to-head for the first time on film. If the rumour is confirmed, Phoenix will join Cavill and Affleck as well as Amy Adams' Lois Lane and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.
Could Joaquin Phoenix Play Lex Luthor?
Fans of the 39 year-old Walk The Line actor won't be used to seeing Phoenix star in such big-name, huge budget action blockbusters which means the Batman Vs. Superman movie will be an intriguing change of role for the reclusive star. According to sources speaking to Variety, Phoenix is being linked to the movie as the film's antagonist, probably Lex Luthor.

Jason Momoa in talks to star in the 'Superman Vs Batman' movie as Doomsday or Martian Manhunter.
The 'Conan the Barbarian' star could be set to star as Martian Manhunter in the upcoming film, which currently has no official title but will serve as a sequel to this year's 'Man Of Steel'. The character is one of the superhero members of the DC comic book team, the Justice League of America so if this suggestion is true, it could throw into question an 'Avengers' style movie given that Wonder Woman will also make an appearance in the movie.
Kryptonian supervillain Doomsday from the Batman franchise is another possibility for Momoa; a character known to be the only supervillain to have ever managed to kill Superman - a storyline that appeared in the 1992 comic 'The Death of Superman'.
Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman in 'Batman Vs. Superman.'
Gal Gadot will play superhero Wonder Woman in Zac Snyder's 2015 action crossover movie, Batman Vs. Superman it has been announced, via Deadline. The news that the Israeli model, actress and former army recruit has been picked to don the legendary leotard and lasso has been confirmed by director Snyder himself who said that she has a "magical quality."
Gal Gadot Is Set To Take On The Wonder Woman Role.
The movie will see Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman engage in a faced-off for the first time on the big screen in what is currently being titled as Batman Vs. Superman but is expected to change after Warner Bros. registered a list of possible titles, many involving the word "dark." Check out the full list here.

Warner Bros. register a list of possible titles for the 2015 action movie.
Warner Brothers have sparked off plenty of excitement after registering several possible titles for the Man of Steel sequel this week, through the internet brand protection company MarkMonitor, reports Fusible. Currently referred to as Batman Vs. Superman, the movie will see Henry Cavill's Superman go head-to-head with Ben Affleck's Batman.
Ben Affleck Will Become The Next Batman.
The Zack Snyder-directed sequel is set to premiere in 2015 but the filmmakers are ensuring that there's sizeable fan interest in the project way, way before the movie is released. During August's Comic-Con panel, Man of Steel actor Harry Lennix read from Frank Miller's graphic novel from a scene in which the caped heroes are locked in battle to set the scene for the new movie: "I want you to remember, Clark. In all the years to come, in all your most private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you" to which the Superman and Batman logos were projected on to a screen melded together.
Wise Bat-words from Bale.
We thought Christian Bale might have some advice for Ben Affleck, but we assumed it would be some sort of grandiose speech detailing the intricacies of the character and the importance he holds to millions across the globe. Just ask Batkid.
Christian Bale has passed on the Batman mantle to Ben Affleck
But it wasn’t anything like that, he just told Affleck not to take a pee in the suit, which is basically telling an adult man not to urinate while he has his work clothes on. Good advice, really.
Her 'Thor' premiere dress is apparently more newsworthy than the possibility of becoming Wonder Woman.
Jaimie Alexander has become one of this week's most talked-about actresses, less for the rumor that she's preparing to become the next Wonder Woman, and more for her daring choice of outfit to the recent premiere of Thor: The Dark World.
All Eyes Were On Jaimie Alexander At The 'Thor: The Dark World' Premiere.
Indeed, Alexander did turn up wearing one of the most revealing dresses we've ever seen: the bold attire showed us the entire length of her body from neck to toe but was kept "modest" by some clever wavy, opaque panelling. The Azzaro outfit has grabbed headlines because Ms. Alexander is very clearly not wearing any underwear. When she turned and walked away from the cameras, we were hit with the back of the dress which gave an equally surprising flash of buttock. See all our photos of Jaimie Alexender's dress here.

No sooner has Jaimie's Superman Vs. Batman role been announced, talks of taking on the Wonder Woman role start to sizzle.
Jaimie Alexander made sure all eyes were on her at the Thor: The Dark World premiere when she arrived in the most revealing dress we've seen all year. However, everyone's thoughts were mulling over whether Jaimie's Thor character, Lady Sif, was actually going to turn out to be Wonder Woman.
Could Jaimie Alexander's Be The Face Of Wonder Woman?
If it emerges that Sif will be the female lead in the upcoming Superman Vs. Batman movie, then a Wonder Woman transformation will be a sure bet. Otherwise, it could turn out that Wonder Woman has her own movie with Alexander attached.

The film made over $55 million during it's first weekend at the box office, exceeding expectation by some distance
Gravity has proved to be the unlikely success story of early October thanks to the overwhelming word-of-mouth success. Having been heralded by the internet long before it was given it's official release on Friday, 4 October, the film rode out it's first weekend stay at the box office with immense success, gaining further praise and breaking the October box office record along the way.
Gravity has soared to success
Starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, both of whom (Bullock in particular) are being touted for awards success thanks to their performances in the film, Gravity has been described as an out of this world ocular treat, held together thanks to the gripping direction of Alfonso Cuaron and the performance of the two stars. This critical and internet-fuelled momentum has seen the film smash previous box office records for the month of October by bringing in an estimated $55.6 million over the weekend. As well as beating the record previously held by Paranormal Activity 3, the film is also the best opening for both of the film's stars, beating The Heat and Batman and Robin respectively.
We take a look at the three front-runners and their chances.
Three films go head to head this weekend, all with reasonable claim to the top spot. But will the audiences go for a historical to learn about the demise of JFK; head for the stars with Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck or be sucked in by Gravity’s delightful pull.
Colin Hanks and Zac Efron in Parkland
Despite some mediocre reviews, Parkland strings together some attractive qualities: a bona fide history lesson, a great cast and, of course, Zac Efron’s face, which has proven to be a marketable asset up until now, so why would that change now? There are two things that mean Parkland won’t be top of the box office come Monday.
Is a new partnership blooming? Could Timberlake be - ahem - Affleck's Robin?
The distinctive smell of a bromance is filling Contact Music’s nostrils. Matt Damon might be scribbling into his diary with excessive force this weekend as new buds Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake cuddle up together. The Argo actor and new Batman has been waxing lyrical about his Runner Runner co-star.
Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck in Runner Runner
"I love Justin. Being around Justin is inspiring, he works really hard, he's incredibly gifted. There's nothing the guy can't do. I really am the biggest fan of his. I'm trying to win tickets to the show," Affleck said in a statement. (IMDB)

Batman's crime-fighting ally is going to get his own TV show.
Police Commissioner James Gordon from the Batman action comics and films is about to get his own spin-off television series thanks to TV network FOX who won a bidding war to air the new show, reports Deadline.
Gary Oldman Played Commissioner Gordon In The Dark Night Rises.
The series, currently entitled Gotham, has bypassed the tentative pilot stage and has been given a straight-to-series order which shows just how keen the network are for the Warner Bros. produced Batman spin-off. The series will apparently focus on the detective James Gordon's career and "the villains that made Gotham famous" before Batman arrived on the scene.
Clearly something went horribly wrong as this thriller was being made, because despite a solid cast, gorgeous locations and an intriguing premise, the film is an incoherent mess. Sure, it looks achingly cool, but there isn't a single moment when the characters' motivations make any sense. And there's never a hint of suspense or danger.
It doesn't help that the set-up revolves around two of the least cinematic things on earth: finances and computers. Timberlake plays Princeton grad student Richie, who runs a gambling website to pay his tuition but loses his savings when another site cheats him. So he heads to Costa Rica to confront the online casino boss Ivan (Affleck). Impressed with his initiative, Ivan offers him a job, and soon Richie has more cash than he can possibly spend. But for some reason, all he wants is Ivan's colleague-girlfriend Rebecca (Arterton). Then a nosey FBI agent (Mackie) forces Richie to help him take Ivan down.
Director Fuhrman showed considerable promise with another renegade loner in The Lincoln Lawyer, but this film simply refuses to fill in enough of the gaps. Nothing that happens here is remotely convincing, as the characters are continually thrust into half-developed scenarios. Perhaps there's a more coherent longer version out there, because this one feels like it was edited with a machete. Even as a cautionary tale about the dangers of greed, this story has nothing relevant to say.

The 'Argo' actor laughs off the criticism... and learns not to scroll to the comments section.
Ben Affleck has finally responded to the backlash and online petition against him being the next Batman in the 2015 Zack Snyder face-off with Henry Cavill's Superman. As the petition's signatures crept past 90,000, the actor could not pretend he was unaware of the furore any longer. It was time for the Oscar-winning director to address the online tirades and bad feeling towards him.

Since the announcement, fans have took to the internet to voice their opinions on the casting. They are in a unanimous agreement that Affleck isn't the man they wanted to follow Christian Bale's portrayal in 'The Dark Knight' trilogy.
