Warner Bros has released the synopsis to the hugely anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, set for March 2016. The studio had already released a teaser trailer and some images from the movie, which stars Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader and Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman.

So, without further ado, this is what Warners has to say on the movie:

"Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.  And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."

We can probably read the "what sort of hero" line as Synder and Chris Terrio establishing a conflict in which the Earthbound justice seeker Batman regards the alien Superman as a threat to humanity.

The new threat? Well, that's likely to be Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, though we're still unsure how the primary villain will fit into a story designed around Batman versus Superman. Also, it's unclear where Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman will fit.

Elsewhere this week, Warner Bros unveiled the new Batmobile at the Licensing Expo. The accompanying notes describe it as an "infamous pursuit and capture vehicle [which] has earned its reputation as the apex predator on the mean streets of Gotham City"

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will open in theaters on March 26, 2016 and also stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Scoot McNairy, Jason Momoa, and Holly Hunter.
