Actors Ben Affleck and Seth Rogen visited the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (26Feb14) to raise awareness for their philanthropic causes.
Affleck and Rogen appeared in front of congressional members to testify about the Democratic Republic of Congo and Alzheimer's disease, respectively.
The Argo star spoke before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and met with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to talk about the ongoing conflict in the African country.
Taking to Twitter.com before the meeting, Affleck wrote, "Honored to represent @EasternCongo before the @Us_Sfrc."
Meanwhile, Rogen testified before a Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing on the current state of economics, research, treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's, which his mother-in-law suffers from.
The Knocked Up actor has been actively working to raise awareness and funds for disease research for several years and in 2011, he co-founded Hilarity for Charity with his wife Lauren to help achieve his mission.
