Ben Affleck will be directing and starring in his own stand-alone Batman move, Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed yesterday at CinemaCon. "I'm also excited to know that we will be working with Ben Affleck on a stand-alone Batman movie." The Batman movie will be Affleck’s fifth outing as a director. His first was 2007’s Gone Baby Gone, followed by The Town and then 2012’s Argo, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He is currently in the middle of directing Live by Night, which is due out next year.
Last month Affleck’s agent Patrick Whitesell told The Hollywood Reporter that Affleck had written his own Batman script. “There's a script that he's written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that's out there as an option,” Whitesell said.
Whitesell also confirmed that Affleck has signed up for two Justice League movies. "He's contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape," the agent added.
