Motown visionary Berry Gordy has launched an online search for a budding star to portray himself, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder in a soulful new musical.
The music executive has taken to YouTube.com in an effort to "discover" an African-American performer, aged eight to 11, who can play all three roles in upcoming Broadway production, Motown: The Musical.
Launching the audition process on the video sharing website on Tuesday (17Jul12), Gordy said, "I'm not looking for imitators. What I'm looking for is people that are smart and can be themselves in the role. He has to be extremely talented, plus he has to give me the same chills that I got when I saw Michael Jackson in the first place."
Gordy's new show - about his fabled record label and the acts who recorded for him - is scheduled to open on Broadway next spring (13).
