Bethenny Frankel, former ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ star, has been granted an order of protection against her ex-husband Jason Hoppy, after he was arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing her.

Hoppy was detained last week after reportedly threatening Frankel after showing up at their six year old daughter Bryn’s school in Manhattan. During the confrontation, Page Six claims that he verbally threatened Frankel, saying that he would “destroy her”.

“Jason Hoppy, a 45 year old male, was arrested on Friday, January 27, at his residence,” an NYPD spokesperson said later that day. Hoppy had attempted to contact her “numerous times via email and FaceTime, and approached [the] victim making verbal threats.”

Following this, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office confirmed on Tuesday (January 31st) that Frankel, 46, has obtained an order of protection against her ex-husband. TMZ reported that the order forbids Hoppy from contacting her, and that he must stay away from her home, business and their daughter’s school for six months.

In the original incident, Hoppy was alleged to have said ‘I will destroy you, you can get all the lawyers you want, you’ve been warned’ to Frankel as she picked Bryn up from school. Hours later, he was arrested and charged with harassment in the first degree and stalking in the fourth degree.

His attorney, Robert Gottlieb, told Us Weekly: “There are no words to express how saddened Mr. Hoppy is over his ex-wife’s unjustified actions. His only concern is his daughter and intends to vigorously fight these false charges. We fully intend to do our talking in the courtroom.”

Frankel and Hoppy, who welcomed their daughter in 2010, had been separated for over three years before their divorce was finally confirmed in July 2016.
