Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Beyonce and Jay Z’s On The Run special on HBO was everything we wanted it to be and more. The two-hour special was recorded during the final nights of Jay and Bey’s recent tour. Both Paris shows included most of the power couple’s shared hits – from Big Pimpin to Single Ladies. They also featured guest performances from Nicki Minaj.

But that much we already know. Unfortunately, the special did not include any behind-the scenes stuff – we would have loved to see more footage of Blue Ivy (aka The Cutest) – but the high energy show and the brilliant editing made up for all of that.

Most of the show was set up like one giant medley, with Jay and Bey switching between shows and passing the torch from Dirt Off Your Shoulder to Why Don’t You Love Me? and so on, with barely a moment to breathe.

The show concluded with a touching moment – the Carter family reunited on stage to perform a three-hit number with On The Run (Part 2), Young Forever and Halo. Family movies played behind them and it seemed like the Carters invited the audience into their lives, just for a moment. Basically, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. After mutual "I love yous" from the exuberant duo, the show was over, but the recaps, commentaries and speculation had only just begun.
