It’s hard not to go through a bit of stage fright when Beyonce herself asks you to sing, and apparently, even royals are no exception to the rule. During Bey’s recent show in London, the singer performed her song Irreplaceable, but when it came time for a cheeky bit of audience participation, she unwittingly chose none other than princess Eugenie, who had a front row seat to the show. At that point though, the princess reportedly froze, barely managed to mouth some of the words and quickly ducked out of sight – not the most glamorous way to conclude her performance, that’s for sure, but at least she gave it a shot.

A gig attendee gave a full account of the, let’s be honest, hilarious encounter for the Mirror: “Eugenie was on the front row with Kate Middleton’s brother, James, and his new girlfriend, Donna Air, plus designers Matthew Williamson and Patrick Cox. She was really excitable and filming the whole thing on her iPhone like any other fan. Beyonce clearly didn’t recognise her so when it came to Irreplaceable, and the part where she picks on an audience member to join in with her, she simply chose the first woman she could reach.”

Yes, apparently Queen Bey (or maybe the 80 000 screaming fans) turned out to be a bit too intimidating for the royal. Oh well, at least it’s a nice story to tell. Or it will be, once the embarrassment dies down a bit. Check out the video below, it's pretty entertaining to say the least.
