The coroner's investigation has revealed no foul play.
The autopsy of Ian Cuttler Sala, the art director, who died in a car crash Sunday, has revealed no suspicious factors. According to the LA coroner’s office, Cuttler died from multiple traumatic injuries after the car – a Ford GT driven by Sami Hayek (brother of Salma Hayek) -collided with a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
43-year-old Sala died on the scene, but Hayek and the 20-year-old truck driver escaped without any major injuries, according to the LA Times. LAPD Lt. Andrew Neiman reported that the investigation has found no evidence of drugs or alcohol being involved, putting the crash down as an accident. However, excessive speed may have played a part in Hayek losing control of the vehicle. The winding road in the area of the crash - a curvy stretch of Sunset Boulevard near Mapleton drive - may have contributed as well.
Beyonce, who worked with Sala on several projects, was among the first to acknowledge and mourn his death.
"There was a loss of control that sent him fishtailing," Neiman said. There is no evidence to make the car crash suspicious in any way. The LAPD’s results will now be turned over to the district attorney’s office for review. According to Sala's website, his awards include a Grammy for art direction for "Johnny Cash: The Legend" box set music package. On Tuesday, Beyonce posted a message in mourning of her former collaborator on her Facebook page.
