The actor will make an appearance in the new movie.
If you're still unsure as to what to think about the upcoming 'Ghostbusters' re-boot starring Melissa McCarthy and others in the originally male lead roles, let the cast of the original movie help you. They seem to be pretty excited about the feminine twist to their beloved franchise.
Bill Murray gives Ghostbusters his seal of approval
The cast of the original 1984 film (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts) joined the cast of the new addition to the franchise (Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones) on an episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' last night (June 8th 2016) for 'Ghostbusters Day' - aka, the 32nd anniversary of when the film first hit theaters.
Murray, Aykroyd, Hudson and Potts do actually all make cameos in the new movie; a surprise move for Murray as he's been notoriously sceptical about expanding the franchise since he left it after 1989's 'Ghostbusters II' flop. However, he knew that this time, things would be different.
'I knew these girls were funny. When you see the film, you'll delight in the film', he told Kimmel when asked why he'd decided to go for this project. 'This was a tough movie to pull off because it's a big concept, there's a lot of expectation and Danny and Annie and Ernie and I were just screaming and cheering like we were at a sporting event at the end of it.'
Aykroyd also recently made his feelings for the film clear with a review posted on his WhoSay account. 'Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films', he wrote.

Also returning with cameo appearance is Sigourney Weaver, and Ozzy Osbourne is even rumoured to make an appearance. And then of course you've got Chris Hemsworth as Kevin, the Ghostbusters' hot receptionist.
'Ghostbusters', directed by Paul Feig, is set to hit theaters in the US on July 15th 2016.
