The magical video for Bjork's newest single 'The Gate' is not one you want to miss. She's well known for her unusual style, and she really pulls it out the bag with this sci-fi fantasy themed visual for a song that is every bit as hypnotic.
But an enchanting series of images like this isn't just thrown together by one person. It was directed by Andrew Thomas Huang at Strangelove with Gucci's Alessandro Michele, headpiece designer James Merry, make-up artist Andrew Gallimore and hair stylist Johnny Stuntz as part of the creative design team. Fans would have got a first glimpse of the video if they were at London Fashion Week, where it was displayed as part of an installation by Nowness.
'The Gate' is the first single from Bjork's upcoming ninth album 'Utopia', coming in November 2017 on One Little Indian records, which has been co-produced by Arca and Rabit. It follows 2015's 'Vulnicura', with Bjork having began work on the album immediately after, and she has described it as something of a love song - though more in the spiritual sense rather than as a personal endeavour.
Other confirmed tracks from the album are the yet to be heard 'Allow', 'Loss' and 'Features Creatures'.
