Ryan Reynolds earned some serious husband points this week when he praised his wife Blake Lively at this year’s Met Gala, saying that she made him a “more empathetic person”.

The glamorous couple attended the annual Met Gala on Monday evening (May 1st) in New York City, and were photographed by Humans of New York’s Brandon Stanton, as part of the popular photoblog that was established in 2010.

“She always responds with empathy. She meets anger with empathy. She meets hate with empathy,” Reynolds said about his wife of five years and mother of his two children. “She'll take the time to imagine what happened to a person when they were five or six years old. And she's made me a more empathetic person.”

Ryan Reynolds has credited his wife Blake Lively for keeping him “sane” during the most stressful and difficult periods of his career, particularly as he prepared for Deadpool, the actor has said in a new interview.

The 40 year old actor has been nominated for the Golden Globes for his role as the masked anti-hero, in what is his first major awards nomination in the Best Actor (Musical or Comedy) category. He has recently won the Critics’ Choice Award for the same role, a good indicator that he’ll be scooping more prizes in the near future.

However, the Wade Wilson / Deadpool role caused Reynolds a great deal of anxiety long before this, aggravating a condition he’s battled for his whole life.

Days after Ryan Reynolds introduced his two infant daughters to the world when he brought the family to his Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling earlier this week, it’s been rumoured that he and wife Blake Lively have named the newest little one Ines.

The couple are very guarded about details of their family life, but Us Weekly reported on Wednesday (December 21st) that their youngest daughter, whom they welcomed back in October, is called Ines. Reps for the couple have not yet confirmed this, however.

Blake Lively has revealed her frustration at society’s expectations of what a woman’s body should look like after giving birth, describing the pressure to slim down as “unfair”.

Appearing on Australian morning show ‘Sunrise’ on Wednesday (August 11th), the 28 year old actress, who is currently pregnant with her second child with her husband Ryan Reynolds, was promoting her new movie The Shallows.

It's shaping up to be a massive few years for Scarlett Johansson, whose star continues to rise in both Hollywood and on Broadway. The actress, easily one of the most in-demand in the world, will appear in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's anticipated new movie Don Jon as well as slipping back into her Black Widow cat-suit for the Captain America sequel 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier.'

It's perhaps easy to forget that Johansson suffered a very public split and subsequent divorce from Ryan Reynolds just a couple of years ago. Movie star Reynolds has since married Blake Lively, while Scarlett has been linked with the likes of Sean Penn, Jared Leto, New York ad executive Nate Naylor and Frenchman Romain Dauriac. Quizzed by Marie Claire about the fallout from her divorce, Johansson said, "Well, it wasn't that long ago. But I think I've had a fair amount of time to process the experience and be able to move forward. I continue to get to know myself better as I get older, and that helps me in my relationships."

Take note guys, Scarlett also shared her dating pet peeve, saying, "I don't like jealous behavior. I don't mind an occasional check-in, but when somebody is passive-aggressively jealous, it's really unattractive because it shows a sort of insecurity." Oh, and she's not a fan of social media either, "All of it drives me crazy.I don't understand this need to 'share.' We almost exploit ourselves in order to feel seen."

Fashionistas and Gossip Girl fans alike were up-in-arms this week after seeing photographs of Blake Lively out and about in New York. The actress has kept an extremely low-profile since marrying Ryan Reynolds last year, though fashion critics were hardly enamoured with her 'comeback outfit' this week.

Looking perhaps her most subdued ever, Lively opted for comfort over style and donned an oversized cream sweater, with a simple khaki trench and pretty boring looking brown leggings. Two-toned brown boots finished off the one-colour look. E! Online said, "Her usually voluptuous hair even seemed to be lacking a bit of its sparkle," asking fans, "What exactly is going on here?!" Perhaps the new Mrs Ryan Reynolds is just taking the whole marriage thing seriously - as she should be - and she's certainly emptied her filming schedule for the coming year at least. The Opposing Views website has a different take on Lively's rather bleugh outfit, suggesting that she may well be pregnant.  "Personally, I say yes. Going on looks alone, she could easily be hiding a bump under that coat and oversized sweater," reads the article. 

If Blake's not pregnant, she most definitely has babies on the brain. "Oh, my gosh!  I just want Beyoncé to be the mother of my children," she told E! News at the launch of Gucci Premiere fragrance in New York on Monday. "She was amazing!  I can't, I can't even. I don't even have words for her."

The episode saw Leighton Meester's character Blair Waldorf marrying Ed Westwick's Bass, while Blake Lively's character Serena married Dan, played by Penn Badgley. Since its first episode on The CW in 2007, the show has been narrated by the omniscient blogger The Gossip Girl - voiced by Kristen Bell - though the online scribe's identity has always remained hidden, until now.

The 12-12-12 Concert, which took place on, yes, the 12th this month, was a rousing success, with over 20 million viewers tuning in nation-wide and $30 million raised, according to Nielsen estimates.

The lineup was an eclectic mix of big names in the business like Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana along with Sir Paul McCartney (that was definitely a curious collaboration), Alicia Keys and Eric Clapton, among others. It featured a number of New York natives, who urged the nation to open their pockets and donate to the relief effort. The show also featured a number of guest appearances by celebrities, representing their native areas, like Kristen Stewart, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon and Blake Lively among others.

The event wasn’t without its controversy either, as a comment made by Mick Jagger sparked a mini storm (no pun intended) among Twitter users. The line, which went “When it rains in London, you’ve got to come in and help us.” quickly made the rounds and managed to enrage some of the more sensitive viewers, but it seemed to be more of a foot-in-mouth moment, rather than carry any malicious intent on Jagger’s part. Regardless of that little moment though, the event seems to have been a success all round, with Americans all over the country pitching in to rebuild one of the nation’s most prominent cities.

Katie Holmes and Blake Lively were in danger of stealing the limelight from the host of rockers performing at last night’s Concert For Sandy Relief at New York’s Madison Square Garden (December 12, 2012). Even Kanye West turning up in a skirt couldn’t upstage these two glamour-pusses, who were all a-shimmer for the big event.

Holmes may be a recent divorcee at 33 and Lively a newlywed at 25, but the pair of them looked equally happy last night. Katie chose to wear a figure-hugging purple dress with velvet panels, designed by Tom Ford, suiting her own classic style down to the ground (well, down to the knees anyway). US Magazine have pictured Tom Cruise’s ex looking relaxed at the charity concert, which featured The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney & Nirvana and Bruce Springsteen, among others and she wore her hair loose, neatly accessorised with black pointy heels. Blake went for a studded red leather mini-dress, designed by Isabel Marant and nude caged ankle boots, designed by Christian Louboutin.

Blake, who recently married Ryan Reynolds, has been keeping a low profile of late, though she and her new husband had been spotted enjoying a break in Paris at the start of this month. Both Katie and Blake were looking stunning last night; they almost put some of the musicians to shame when it came to grabbing the limelight.

Has Leonardo Dicaprio moved on from his split with Victoria's Secret model Erin Heatherton already? It certainly seems to be the case with onlookers suggesting he got very cosy with a co-star at a recent bash.

The serial dater and Golden Globe winning actor ended his relationship with Erin after ten months, reportedly because she wanted to get more 'serious' and Leo, who has been in numerous high profile relationships, feels he is not yet ready to commit having not yet had a go with all the models of Hollywood. He's not far off though. He has already romanced the likes of Kristen Zang, Emma Miller, Gisele Bundchen, Bar Refaeli and actress (for a change) Blake Lively.

Now, it seems he's back on actresses after being seen spending a lot of time in the company of his 'The Wolf of Wolf Street' co-star Margot Robbie. At a recent Las Vegas party for businessman Jho Low, an onlooker told The New York Post: 'There looks to be some strong chemistry between Leo and his leading lady. They spent a lot of time at the party together.'

Leonardo Dicaprio appears to be back on the market again. AccordIng to a story from E! Online, the Django Unchained star has split from his latest beautiful girlfriend, the Victoria’s Secret model Erin Heatherton.

Despite the fact that Erin, Leo and Leo’s mum all enjoyed a fun adventure holiday in Mexico at the start of the year, things don’t seem to have worked out and DiCaprio has returned to his perpetual state of bachelorhood.

Apparently, Leo and Erin are still on good terms and it looks as though the distance may have been the big factor in ruining things for them. Leonardo had to spend a long time in Australia filming The Great Gatsby and was then holed up in New Orleans over the spring, filming Django Unchained. The test of long-distance love clearly proved too much for the busy pair, who have now decided to call it a day, though a source told E! that there’s no bad feelings between the couple.

Leo and Victoria's Secret model Erin are said to have decided on an amicable split and just decided that the time was right to move on, a source told US Weekly. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been officially married for over a month now, at which time it seems right for Lively to finally begin wearing her utterly incredible wedding ring (and about time too). She's managed to keep it well hidden or simply just not worn it while she's been out and about, but on the set of her hit show Gossip Girl, it seems the star is happy to flaunt her assets-and for once a comment like that about a woman is not meant to be crude.

Sporting a casual outfit of black denim, a Native-American style print jacket and black scarf, with a seemingly effortless and casual up-do of her blonde locks, Lively strolled casually and confidently on set, until she saw the cameras, at which point she tucked her hand away into her pocket, according to EntertainmentWise.

The rock is a 12 carat pink diamond that set Reynolds back an estimated $2m. Jeweller, Lorraine Schwartz worked with Reynolds who wanted to design the ring himself for her. A spokesperson for the jeweller said “'Ryan chose Lorraine Schwartz to help him find a flawless, light pink oval diamond. They worked together to design a custom setting in rose gold and pave diamonds with a nod to deco.”

There was no press photography there, but who needs them when you've got DJ and music producer Questlove around to go snap-happy for you. The 41 year-old couldn't seem to help himself and on his Instagram, among other photos, there are a couple of glorious pictures of Tamblyn looking resplendent in a bright yellow, non-traditional dress.

In a classy looking location - pictures show Tamblyn stepping out of a boat with a lake and a lush-looking wood behind it - the couple were wedded with others in attendance including recently married Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively (also snapped by the ever reliable Questlove), whilst E! Online reports that Tamblyn's other 'Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants' co-stars America Ferrera and Alexis Bledel were also there, as was Amy Poehler, who recently split from her husband Will Arnett. American rock band Yo La Tengo provided the music.

Questlove really got pretty close up to the bride and groom, with one very intimate shot showing the moment when the pair of them cut the cake. With a man like him around, the paparazzi should be looking over their shoulders.

Amber Tamblyn and David Cross' wedding may well be up there with the coolest celebrity nuptials ever after details of their big day surfaced online. We say 'details', we were actually treated to an Instagram album thanks to The Roots musician Questlove, who documented the day on his smartphone!

The ceremony - dubbed The Wedding in the Woods in an Instagram hashtag - took place on Saturday (October 6, 2012) and played host to a plethora of celebrity guests including Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively, comedienne Amy Poehler, Jason Ritter and Kristen Schaal. But that's not all; it seems the booked entertainment for the evening was equally as high profile, with rock filmmaker Lance Bangs sharing the details online, saying, "Yo La Tengo playing Superchunk, Mission of Burma, and Pixies covers at David and Amber's wedding." Cross' representative later confirmed to MTV News that Questlove also served as the evening's DJ.

Tamblyn, who next stars in Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained', accepted her husband's marriage proposal in 2011 after the pair had dated for several years. Cross is currently working on the highly anticipated 'Arrested Development' reunion series and movie.

Salma Hayek certainly stole the spotlight at a London photo-call for her new movie ‘Savages’ this week. The actress wore a hugely revealing dress, leading director Oliver Stone to jokingly try cop a feel of the star.

Photographs published on the Mail Online website show the Oscar-winning director getting a little too touch-feely with Hayek as the stars posed on the red carpet at London’s Mandarin Oriental hotel. The 46-year-old actress seemed to laugh off the unwanted attention, and Stone has been happily married to his wife Sun-Jung Jung since 1997! To be fair to the legendary auteur, Hayek was looking stunning in a fitted aubergine and teal dress, with a trim belt, accentuating her famous curves. The brunette star – who is married to the French multi-billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault – was joined by co-stars Benicio Del Toro and John Travolta, who both looked pretty dapper.

Blake Lively – another star of the new violent drama – skipped the promotional duties as she has begun work on Gossip Girl in New York. The actress recently tied the knot with Ryan Reynolds in a secret South Carolina ceremony.

Going back to work so soon after getting married would be a drag for most people. For Blake Lively, though, returning to the set of Gossip Girl was a treat, as her colleagues had arranged a low-key toast for the newlywed. A source on-set told People magazine that the cast all raised a glass of ‘champagne’ (except it was actually ginger ale). One of the show’s producers interrupted filming and said “Someone got hitched!! Mazel tov!” to which Blake joked “I know, I heard!” before laughing and thanking her colleagues for their good wishes.

Blake wasn’t wearing her engagement ring on her first day back on set but considering recent reports that it would have set her new husband Ryan Reynolds back somewhere in the region of $2 million, then frankly, we’re not surprised she didn’t fancy wearing the fancy rock to work. Celebuzz.com, however, have published snaps of Blake and her new husband Ryan Reynolds, which were reportedly taken the day after their nuptials in South Carolina. And it's a hell of a diamond that Blake's sporting, too. According to Celebuzz.com, Ryan will have shelled out between $1.2 million and $2 million on Blake's ring.

A leading jeweller confirmed that the ring will have cost around $2 million. "The ring is an oval cut diamond, roughly 12 'carat total weight' (which describes the total weight in carats of all the diamonds in a piece of jewelry) depending on the way it was cut. Depending on clarity and color, I would say at the minimum this retails for $1.2 million, but closer to $2 million," explained Adelaide Polk-Bauman of Forevermark Diamonds. "It looks particularly brilliant." If those figures turn out to be true then it's really no wonder that Lively has decided not to wear the dazzling new accessory to work.

The Blake Lively ring was reportedly designed by the jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. A spokesperson for the jeweler revealed "They worked together to design a custom setting in rose gold and pave diamonds with a nod to deco." Blake Lively married Reynolds on September 9, at the Boone Hall plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Following their secret wedding, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have returned to work, with the former being snapped getting back onto the set of Gossip Girl, according to E! Online. Any hopes that there might be a picture of what sparkler Lively had been presented by Reynolds were sadly dashed, with photographers not managing to get close enough to the actress; however she did look happy, arriving to work in New York with a beaming smile across her face.

The surprise wedding occurred on September 9, 2012 when, wearing a custom Marchesa gown by Georgina Chapman, Lively said "I do" to Reynolds, who looked equally dapper in a Burberry tuxedo. It wouldn't appear that the couple had a honeymoon of any great extravagance, with reports stating that they hung about in in Charleston for a few days instead.

For actor Reynolds, he'll be hoping that he'll be lucky in love this time round after previous engagements haven't quite ended up turning out so well. He was engaged to singer Alanis Morissette in 2004, only for the two of them to mutually split three years later. After that he began dating Scarlett Johansson, with the pair even managing to get married in the Autumn of 2008. That ended in divorce in 2010 however, with Lively being his first relationship following that in 2011.
