Last week we were oohing and aahing over the breathtaking display of dresses on show at the Cannes Film Festival. This week, nothing's changed, if anything we’re even more envious of the fabulous fashions coming out of the annual film festival. As the festivities continue, Blake Lively is still our red carpet queen but competition has just gotten stiffer, with Suki Waterhouse, Julianne Moore and even Cheryl Cole showcasing some spectacular gowns as Cannes continues for another week.
Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds, both wearing Gucci
Let’s start with Blake Lively again, we’ve said it before, we might as well just crown Blake as our red carpet queen for 2014 now. On Friday Blake owned the red carpet again, this time in a stunning monochrome Gucci Premiere gown for the premiere of husband Ryan Reynold’s The Captive. As dreamy as Ryan was in his Gucci tux and white bow tie, it was hard for us to take our eyes off Blake, who, once again, looked every inch the vintage Hollywood starlet.

Making her Cannes debut, model Suki Waterhouse began her asualit on Cannes in a printed navy Armani Prive dress at the Vanity Fair and Armani party on Saturday night. But she really took our breathe away on Sunday in a stunning ink Dior dress for The Homesman premiere. Next the model made it a fashion hat trick when she wore a floral print Peter Pilotto dress to the Relativity 10 party.
Cannes, meet Cheryl Cole
Former X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole succeeded in turning a few heads on the red carpet at Foxcatcher’s premiere when she appeared in beautiful black strapless Monique Lhuillier gown with a long flowing train. Her main red carpet rival for the night was Jessica Chastain who chose a gorgeous purple chiffon Ellie Saab creation with one shoulder detailing.

Actress Julianne Moore has had a few fashion hits so far at this year’s Cannes, but she might have outdone herself at the Maps to the Stars premiere on Monday evening in her elegant Chanel feathered gown. Hilary Swank also looked elegant in her silk Bottega Veneta dress worn to the Homesman premiere on Sunday.

The soon to be Mrs Johnny Depp, Amber Heard picked an unusual Vionnet outfit for her Cannes debut, which teamed a white loose fitting top with a sparkling metallic skirt.
Also opting for something out of the ordinary, Marion Cotillard chose a tiered Dior dress for the Two Days, One Night premiere, which featured eye detailing whilst the back and flowed out into a cape. Earlier in the day she took another fashion risk in a custom Margiella minidress which was covered with beads and sequins.
