Bobbi Kristina Brown's Condition "Dire" As Authorities Allegedly Investigate Nick Gordon

Bobbi Kristina Brown has some injuries which need to be explained, according to sources working closely with police investigators in Atlanta. The 21-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston was found unconscious in a bathtub in her Atlanta home on 31st January. She was reportedly found, by Gordon and a friend, face down in a tub of water. Initial reports suggested it was a medical incident, i.e. not drug or alcohol related, but some questions have been raised concerning how she sustained her alleged and unspecified injuries, according to sources speaking to CNN. Investigators are reportedly looking to Brown's boyfriend, Nick Gordon, for an explanation.

Brown was found "unresponsive" by paramedics who responded to the scene, effectively meaning she was not breathing and had no heartbeat. The emergency services rushed her to hospital where it was confirmed Brown was breathing. Although it has been a week since the incident occurred, situation is still "dire", according to sources speaking to Us Weekly. As she is in a medically induced coma, the status of her brain function remains unknown but doctors will be able to assess the situation when the sedatives are reduced. Further details of her condition are largely unknown but reports claim she suffered a seizure on Monday.

Brown was discovered by Gordon and their friend Max Lomas. Reports in TMZ claim Lomas has been the key witness in police investigation into the incident. Lomas allegedly told investigators that he arrived at Brown and Gordon's property at 9am and did not see Brown until he discovered her unconscious in the bathtub shortly after 10am. Gordon also allegedly disappeared for some time and it was only when a cable installer needed access to the bedroom that Lomas discovered Brown, according to reports in TMZ.

A source close to the family, speaking to People, has seemingly confirmed the police investigation into Gordon. "Foul play is being investigated, including drug use and possibly cover up to remove evidence from the crime scene," the source said.

Gordon was living with Brown's family, being the son of a close friend of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, from the age of 12. Brown and Gordon, according to reports in ABC, began dating in 2011 and Brown announced their marriage in January 2014. However, Bobby Brown's lawyer has since claimed his daughter is not married to Gordon. "To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon," Bobby Brown's lawyer said in a statement.

Brown was found in similar circumstances to her mother, singer Whitney Houston. The incident occurs just shy of the three year anniversary of Houston's death. Houston was found dead in a bathtub in a Beverly Hills hotel on February 11th 2012. A coroner later ruled 48-year-old Houston's death was the result of accidental drowning as a result of Houston's cocaine use and heart disease.

Brown's condition has been described as "dire" by a source close to the family.
