Bobbi Kristina Brown is reportedly being taken out of a medically induced coma.

The 21-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobbi Brown is still ''fighting for her life'' after being found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in Atlanta on January 31, but doctors have begun to wean her off the medication that has been keeping her in a state of unconsciousness.

A family member said: ''We're hoping for a significant change soon, but we know that it may not change anything.''

Her medical team are believed to have made the decision in an attempt to get a sense of how well her brain is functioning.

The aspiring actress and singer also recently underwent a tracheostomy, prompting speculation she is making progress, but her condition remains ''severe'' and she is still on life support.

The insider told PEOPLE magazine: ''There will be a sign of hope, and then nothing. Every day, we wonder if this will be the day that we get good news.

''We're all hoping and praying that this will give us some answers.''

Meanwhile, the starlet's family refuse to let their feud with her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, who has been banned from seeing her, distract them from focusing on her recovery.

The source said: ''He can say whatever he wants to say.

''We are leaving the investigation in the hands of the authorities. Our focus has always been Bobbi Kristina's health and recovery. That's all that matters to us right now.''
