Bobbi Kristina went missing following the 3.5 hour long funeral of her mother Whitney Houston held in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday (February 18, 2012). Though Bobbi said her final goodbyes to Whitney, she disappeared shortly after the casket was carried out of the New Hope Baptist Church, alarming her family and friends.

According to US Weekly, it was speculated that she was using drugs at the time, but a Houston family spokesperson played down the reports, telling The Daily Beast on Sunday, "There was some confusion about Bobbi Kristina's whereabouts last night for a short time, but she's OK". On the exact reason for Bobbi's disappearance, the spokesperson said, "She needed some time alone". There is no word on whether Whitney's daughter attended the "repast" held for the Houston family after the funeral. Shortly after her mother's death on Saturday (February 18, 2012), Bobbi was admitted to the Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and treated for stress and anxiety while a psychiatric evaluator was brought in to determine if she needed to be placed in an "involuntary psychiatric hold". Extended family member Billy Watson said, "Everything [was] stressful. Her mama died, so she broke down. Nobody expected her to pass as quickly as she did. [Bobbi Kristina] had a nervous breakdown".

The funeral in New Jersey featured musical performances from Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and R Kelly, while Whitney's 'Bodyguard' co-star Kevin Costner gave a moving speech about his memories of their time spent together.
