R&B star BOBBY BROWN has begun his 55-day jail term for drink driving charges after turning himself in to Los Angeles police on Wednesday (20Mar13).
The New Edition star was handed the punishment last month (Feb13) after pleading no contest to charges of driving under the influence (Dui) and driving on a suspended licence relating to an arrest in October (12).
He was given until 20 March (13) to begin serving his sentence and Brown left it until the very last day of the deadline to surrender to authorities.
He appeared before a U.S. judge on Wednesday morning before being led away in handcuffs.
The singer will be placed on four years' probation once he completes his stint behind bars and will have to complete an 18-month alcohol education programme.
