Footage of Bobby Brown's emotional breakdown onstage at a New Edition concert in Mississippi on Saturday night (11Feb12) as he processed the sad news his ex-wife Whitney Houston was dead has appeared online.
The My Prerogative hitmaker refused to cancel his concert at the Landers Center in Southaven but was clearly overcome with grief during his performance - and told fans he had almost pulled out of the performance.
He broke down during a rendition of Tenderoni and briefly left the stage to compose himself.
Upon his return he addressed fans and asked them to pray for his family as the mourned the death of Houston, who died in a Los Angeles hotel on Saturday afternoon.
In the clip, obtained by CNN, he said, "I want you all to do me a favour, just say a prayer for my daughter, say a prayer for my mother and if you can find the time, please say a prayer for me, 'cos I'm gonna need it."
Brown and Houston divorced in 2007 after 15 years of marriage.
Brown released an official statement on Sunday to People magazine, saying, "I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi Kristina. I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time."
