Bonnie Tyler struggled to make an impact at the 'Eurovision Song Contest' last night (18.05.13) with her performance of 'Believe In Me' earning her enough votes to rank 19th out of 26 entries.
Bonnie Tyler failed to impress with a 19th place finish at the 'Eurovision Song Contest' in Sweden last night (18.05.13).
The 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' hitmaker was representing the UK in the annual singing competition but only just broke into the top 20 out of 26 acts.
Speaking after the results were revealed, she said:''I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed on my behalf but I have really enjoyed my 'Eurovision' experience.
''I did the best that I could do with a great song. I don't feel down and I'm ready to ready.''
Denmark's entry 'Only Teardrops' - performed by Emmelie de Forest - was the winner and the nation will now host next year's contest.
The 61-year-old singer's performance of 'Believe In Me' only managed 23 points once the votes from around the continent had been counted - much less than the winner's 281.
Bonnie admitted: ''The songs at the top of the table totally deserve to be up there.
''Of course I would have liked to bring it back to the UK but it's been a night to remember.
''I'm so glad and so happy that I did it because it was an incredible experience. It was like the Grammy Awards all over again.''
The star still made an improvement on the UK's standing the previous year, which saw Engelbert Humperdinck coming 25th with 12 points.
