Palahniuk admitted he did not intend to continue the Fight Club story, but was almost forced into it after floating the idea to the comic-book community at last year's Comic-Con in New York City.

"I messed up and said I was doing the sequel in front of 1,500 geeks with telephones," Palahniuk said, according to USA Today, "Suddenly, there was this big scramble to honor my word."

David Fincher's movie adaptation came out in 1999, starring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham-Carter. Speculation regarding a movie sequel has already begun to ramp up, though we imagine that's hugely unlikely.
