Well, there goes Vitalii Sediuk's pranking career.
Vitalii Sediuk, aka the Ukranian “prankster” who has made a career out of harassing celebrities, has had his day in court and – probably – his fifteen minutes. The “prankster” ran out on the red carpet at Wednesday’s Maleficent premiere and attempted to punch Brad Pitt, of all people. Earlier this month, he had attempted to dive under America Ferrera’s gown at Cannes. This is standard practice for Sediuk and has in fact led to his management dropping him.
To his credit, Brad Pitt recovered brilliantly from the incident.
As of Friday, however, he has even bigger worries. After he pleaded no contest to battery and unlawful activity charges, Sediuk was sentenced to three years of probation, one year of psychological counseling, ordered to stay 500 yards away from all celebrity events, and issued with a restraining order to keep away from Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Yes, that sounds about right.
Sediuk's previous victims include America Ferrera...
This isn’t Sediuk’s first court experience by a long shot. Before Friday, the prankster had four misdemeanors - one count of battery, one count of assault and two violations of the Los Angeles municipal code (those last two from back when he crashed the stage during Adele’s acceptance speech at the 2013 Grammy Awards). This type of harassment, bordering on assault is kind of Sediuk’s shtick – or at least it was until now, since has officially been denied access to any and all celebrities. The job market might be tough for a retired professional harasser.
