Bradley Cooper Could Star As WWE's Vince McMahon In Biopic

Bradley Cooper

Vince McMahon is without a doubt one of the most polarising figures in sports entertainment. As a former commentator and announcer in the world of wrestling, as well as lending his talents to in-ring performing and acting, Vincent Kennedy McMahon is now the Chairman and CEO of the world's leading wrestling company, World Wrestling Entertainment (otherwise known as WWE).

Bradley Cooper recently rocked out at Glastonbury FestivalBradley Cooper recently rocked out at Glastonbury Festival

It was revealed earlier this year that Vince's story would be turned into a Hollywood biopic named 'Pandemonium', with the drama directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, and a script written by Craig A. Williams. With Vince himself on board as a producer and the film now also being a project worked on by WWE Studios however, that script could be going through some heavy rewrites, especially considering all of the controversy that has followed Vince around in his life, and which could paint the CEO and his company in a negative light.

Bradley Cooper: James Gunn Has His 'Finger On The Pulse Of Humanity'

Bradley Cooper James Gunn

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year as fans gear up to learn how the relationship between this rag-tag team of angsty super-heroes has developed since the original 2014 movie. Star Bradley Cooper opens up about the 'kitchen sink drama' aspect of the series.

Following the massive success of the first film, it seems that 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is one segment of the Marvel franchise that even those who aren't ordinarily fans of the universe can enjoy. It's not just about showing off incredible powers and saving the galaxy, it's about the everyday struggles of love, friendship and prejudice that the characters face in between adventures.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Review

Extraordinary

It was never going to be easy to match the impact of 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, which jolted the Marvel franchise to life with its fresh comedy and freewheeling adventure. This sequel is still a lot of fun, but it's also far more controlled, a conventional, plot-based step of the Marvel universe. And all of the characters are angry about everything and everyone. Thankfully, there's also an emotionality that sneaks into the final act.

Now working as a team, the bickering Guardians just manage to complete their latest mission when Rocket (Bradley Cooper) makes an enemy of a tenacious high priestess (Elizabeth Debicki). Her fleet chases them into an encounter with Ego (Kurt Russell), a god-like being who claims to be the father of Guardian leader Peter (Chris Pratt). So Peter takes Gamora and Drax (Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista) to check out Ego's planet, while Rocket and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) fend off both the priestess and Peter's old mentor Yondu (Michael Rooker), who arrives with a large posse. And then there's Gamora's perpetually furious sister Nebula (Karen Gillan), who's on the rampage, determined to get revenge against everyone who has slighted her.

There's an underlying rage that drives everyone's actions, and the constant screaming matches become exhausting as the film progresses. The worst offender is Rocket, who expresses his perpetual aggravation in a stream of tetchy tirades. Thankfully, the dialogue is sharply written, with wicked insults to keep the audience smirking along. And there's also a nice sense that all of this fury is masking a deeper affection these misfits have for each other, which boils over in some remarkably strong dramatic scenes. Pratt and Russell are both terrific, seizing every chance to play with the comedic and dramatic notes. There are nice moments for Rooker, Saldana and Gillan, plus some witty cameos. And while Baby Groot is almost painfully adorable, it's Bautista's hilariously open-hearted Drax who steals the show.

The 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Characters Ranked

Vin Diesel Chris Pratt Dave Bautista Bradley Cooper Zoe Saldana

With 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' well on the way, we order the Guardians of the original movie from best to nearly best before their newest members join the ranks. Of course, Groot has been replaced by Baby Groot, and Yondu Udonta and Nebula are apparently about to join this force for good - though they haven't given us much reason to like them yet. Also, Mantis is another forthcoming addition, who we expect will steal our hearts very soon.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' has some of Marvel's best characters'Guardians of the Galaxy' has some of Marvel's best characters

1. Groot - He's a tree of little words, but he also sacrificed himself to save his friends, most of which he had only known a short time. Also, he becomes Baby Groot after that sacrifice - and he is the character that we're all excited to meet in the forthcoming 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'. Voiced by Vin Diesel, he is the most innocent and the most loving of all the Guardians.

Bradley Cooper Talks The 'Joy' Of Working With Robert De Niro And Jennifer Lawrence Again

Bradley Cooper Jennifer Lawrence Robert De Niro David O Russell

After working together on 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and David O. Russell have teamed up again, this time for biopic Joy. Joy tells the story of inventor Joy Mangano, who broke the rules as a female to become a millionaire business woman thanks to her miracle mop. But for Cooper the real ‘joy’ of filming came from working with Lawrence, De Niro and Russell again, a team that he says he’d ‘do anything’ to make more movies with.

Bradley Cooper in JoyBradley Cooper stars in Joy.

Cooper’s first time starring opposite Jennifer Lawrence came in the Oscar nominated Silver Linings Playbook, a year later the pair went on to star in another award-nominated film, American Hustle. Speaking about their on-screen chemistry Cooper said: “She’s kind of the best really at what she does.”

Burnt Review

Good

Strong characters help hold the attention as this overcooked drama develops, but in the end it feels so concocted that it's difficult to believe. While there's plenty of potential in the premise, the film becomes distracted by irrelevant subplots that try to stir up some tension but never quite manage it. And for a movie about food, the cuisine is simply too abstract to be mouthwatering.

At the centre is Adam (Bradley Cooper), a bad boy chef whose partying ways ended his high-flying career in Paris. After a period of penance in New Orleans, he moves to London to start again, with the goal of finally getting his elusive third Michelin star. Since he has alienated his friends, he turns to Tony (Daniel Bruhl), a guy who always had a soft spot for him and happens to be running a posh restaurant, which Adam quickly takes over. He rustles up some old colleagues (Omar Sy and Riccardo Scamarcio) and hires hot-shot Helene (Sienna Miller) as his sous chef. But his demanding perfectionism is keeping things from running very smoothly.

This set-up is ripe for both black comedy and soul-searching drama, and yet writer Steven Knight throws in irrelevant sideroads including a mandated therapist (the wonderful Emma Thompson), a bitter rival (a jagged Matthew Rhys), a couple of randomly violent loan sharks and a precocious little girl. Even though the actors do what they can to make every scene intriguing, none of these story elements add anything to the overall film. Still, Cooper holds the movie together with sheer charisma, even if his sudden transition from absolute tyrant to cuddly sweetheart isn't terribly convincing. At least he adds some surprising textures to his scenes, and indulges in sparky banter with those around him. And while Miller is solid in her thankless role, even she can't breathe life into such a thinly developed romance.

Sienna Miller has come in for heavy criticism for appearing on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ without wearing a Remembrance Day poppy.

44 year old Renner was asked by Business Insider on Tuesday (October 20th) whether he would play an active role in helping female co-stars in negotiating fair deals, he replied: “That’s not my job… …I don’t know contracts and money and all that sort of stuff.”

Hollywood stars including Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller and Emma Watson have declared their support for Jennifer Lawrence’s essay on gender pay inequality in the film industry.

Miller and Cooper, who were interviewed on the red carpet at the premiere of their new movie Burnt on Wednesday (October 14th), both weighed in on the article that Lawrence published via Lena Dunham’s newsletter Lenny the previous day.

33 year old Miller revealed that she once turned down a play because she was offered less than half the pay of her male co-star – in a two-person production. She told E! News that she reluctantly did “what we have to start doing, unfortunately, at the expense of our creative dreams… …I walked away from a play I wanted to do because I was offered less than half of what the other man was offered and it was just the two of us.”

The Elephant Man - Theatre Royal Haymarket, London - July 31st 2015 Live Review

British theatre fans rejoiced when they heard that Bradley Cooper was coming to the West End for a limited UK run of 'The Elephant Man'; a seventies play which made its last revival more than 10 years ago. It's safe to say the UK audience were left just as satisfied as the Broadway spectators, and just as emotionally drained.

The Elephant Man - London - July 2015 Live Review

I've never seen the play in the past, so my only point of reference was David Lynch's iconic black and white 1980 biopic, which explored the life of John Merrick in all its harrowing destitution. Having recently watched the spectacular revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Cats' and been shocked by how unfamiliar the characters felt, I was therefore left completely gobsmacked when Bradley Cooper opened his mouth and John Hurt's voice came out - totally spot on. All the familiarity you could ask for from a revival play. And his was the only British accent from an American actor during the entire play that never faltered; a remarkable feat given the acute discomfort he must've been feeling throughout.

The play is famous for its avoidance of a mask to imitate the extreme deformity of John Merrick, and so Cooper was forced to maintain an unpleasantly contorted face, stance, gait and hand throughout his time on stage; such dedication that becomes starkly astounding when you try it yourself for just five minutes. There was some initial disappointment when you realised there'd be no Hallowe'en mask, but that dissipated almost immediately - along with the initial chuckles over Cooper's funny face. By the end, you were convinced that the actor was indeed suffering with the same debilitating defects, so when his visage snapped back to the usual handsome features during the standing ovation, it was a startling switch back to reality.
