Bradley Cooper is the latest A-list Hollywood star to join the cast of Marvel's new upcoming American superhero film 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' confirmed on August 30th 2013 by Marvel via official press release.

Cooper, who is an Oscar nominated actor, will make his first attempt at voice over work by becoming the voice of Rocket Racoon, an interplanetary explorer who first appeared in Marvel comics in 1976.

Bradley Cooper will be joining an already heavily talented cast that includes Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation), Zoe Saldana (Star Trek), and former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista to form the team 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' Dave Bautista took to Twitter on August 18th to discuss his excitement about one of his co-workers accolades "How badass is this? Simon Hayes who's doing sound 4 Guardians is not only an Oscar winner but also owns & operates Carlson Gracie BJJ London".

The space adventure epic is likely to be a box office sensation given the summer release date is set for August 1st 2014 and the anticipation is already building. The official Twitter account of Marvel confirms the excitement of Bradley joining the cast.  "OFFICIAL: Bradley Cooper joins #Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy as #RocketRaccoon!".

The star studded cast means that Marvel have great expectations for this movie and may be able to match the success of The Avengers, which Chris Pratt also hopes for as in a recent interview with IGN he stated "A lot of it's just going to depend on what people think of the movie and if it makes sense for Marvel to keep making more of them. But I sure hope it does because I've never done anything like it. I hope they make ten of them."

The shooting of the film is underway and with a deeply talented cast, Guardians of the Galaxy should live up to the hype that Marvel fans hope to see.
