The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers has confirmed the release date of his second solo album. The Desired Effect will arrive on May 19th 2015, and will be carried by Island Records.

The Desired Effect will be preceded by a single entitled ‘Can’t Deny My Love’, officially released on March 23rd. Flowers will also be building up to the release date with a series of small club shows and a handful of select festival appearances. The first of these will be at New York’s Webster Hall the day after the single’s release.

Flowers confirmed earlier this week via his website that he had teamed up with vogue-ish producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Sky Ferreira, Haim) to create The Desired Effect (arf!). Recording took place at The Killers’ own Battle Born studios in Flowers’ home town of Las Vegas.

Fans in the U.S. are able to pre-order The Desired Effect already, and doing so will put them in with a chance of getting special access tickets to the aforementioned Webster Hall show in New York. Social media followers can also get sneak peeks into the record over the coming months.

Flowers released his first solo album nearly five years ago during his first break from his band. Flamingo performed respectably, though many noted that it bore a strong resemblance to The Killers’ own album Sam’s Town regarding its lyrical themes. Its lead single ‘Crossfire’ was a Top 30 hit in both Britain and the States.

Since that record he has released two more Killers records – their fourth album Battle Born (2012) and the best-of compilation Direct Hits (2013). The touring schedule for those albums saw the group play sell-out concerts at Madison Square Garden and London’s Wembley Stadium.
