Brandy releases another album with ‘Afrodisiac’. She certainly is proving herself to be quite a talent in the world of music as well as TV. There’s tracks written by Kanye West here, as well as production by Timbaland, so she certainly is mixing with the right people. This album is a good soul/r’n’b number. There’s nice layers to the music and attempts to create progressive r’n’b sounds. ‘Talk About Our Love’ is a beautiful track with gritty soul on the vocals and uplifting music. It’s

kinda’ off beat and grabs you with full on soul. Then there are Kanye West’s contributions like ‘Talk About Our Love’ which is a great effort and mixing modern sounds with the old disco/Mowtown formula that creates something unique. ‘Should I Go’ bravely uses a Coldplay sample with a real serene melody that seems to work. Brandy exercises good use of tone and conviction in her voice and at certain times a real gravely sound that is engrossing and sexy.

Overall this album is successful. It’s soothing and well put together.It’s not as kick ass as divas such as Gill Scott or Lucy Pearl howeverit keeps it’s place in the r’n’b world. She has mass sensualitythat projects well and keeps us wanting more.
