When BRET MICHAELS was invited back onto the US version of Celebrity Apprentice, as a past champion, he probably wasn’t expected to be the first contestant to be booted off the show. Having said that, when Donald Trump fired Bret Michaels, who returned to the show as a past champion, he probably wasn’t expecting Bret to have a mini-meltdown over it. It’s just for fun, after all, right? Right, Bret?

Apparently not, as RadarOnline report that Bret took the whole thing rather hard and the Poison singer had to be comforted by the shows producers, it appears. An insider on the show told the site “Bret was crying and totally distraught after he was fired.” It seems as though the long-haired rocker was convinced that he’d be able to repeat his former success on the show once more and was shocked when that turned out not to be the case this time around. “Bret totally went into the show believing he was going to win,” the source explained. “He couldn’t believe it that he was let go so quickly. It was brutal to watch him freaking out the way he did… It was a mess when Bret was told the news and filming was done… No one expected him to have a meltdown like that.”

Still, Trump had to choose between Michaels and La Toya Jackson and he opted to give Michaels the boot, safe in the knowledge that he’d already had his time in the limelight. So, was Bret ever really in with a chance, or was Trump simply toying with him by inviting him back?
