Britney Spears' latest video, for the new single 'Work B*tch,' features bull whips, S&M gear and numerous allusions to sexual mishappenings, and the singer claims that this over-the-top sexualisation of herself isn't being done with her full discretion. In fact, the singer has apparently grown fed up of this über-sexual image that the record industry is trying to impose on her, and she has said that her days in skimpy outfits are over.

Outfit choices like this may soon be a thing of the past as far as Britney is concerned

The 31-year-old mother of two called into Boston radio station AMP 103.3 to talk on The TJ Show on Thursday (3 Oct.), when the conversation turned to her risqué new video. As the talk turned to the 'Work B*tch' video, Britney insisted that the overtly sexual themes in it had gotten out of hand, as she claimed that she was being pushed too far. Britney explained, "A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video, and you’re dancing the whole video, and there’s like not that much sex stuff going on."

She continued, "It’s about the dance and it’s about being old school, it’s like keeping it real and just making it about the dance. I’d love to do a video like that.”

She went on to digress that, as outrageous as the video for 'Work B*tch' seems, it was way worse. She explained that she had to step in and put her foot down during filming, explaining, "we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video than what is actually there. Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it’s just hard to play sexy mom while you’re being a pop star as well."

The pop star went on to discuss her upcoming shows in Las Vegas, where she will play 50 shows over two years at Planet Hollywood, and how she is busy working on her still-untitled eighth album, which is due out 3 December, in the meantime. She discussed how, although she loves being a stay at home mother, she can't wait to get out of the house and on to the stage. She said, “I’m such a cozy person, I love being in my house, but I feel like I’m going to go a little crazy if I stay in my house too much if I just hang out and do nothing... I really like to perform and I like to do shows. It’s exciting and it’s great to express yourself so I think it’s fun.”

Her residency at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, titled 'Britney: Piece of Me,' begins on 27 December.
