It’s been barely a month since the drama of the 2015 Super Bowl, but gossip is already heating up as to what will be happening at next year’s game. Strong rumours indicate that Britney Spears will be performing the half-time show, and that she’s currently in talks with the NFL to flesh out the details.

An inside source close to Britney told the National Enquirer that the singer feels that it would be the right time to make a pop comeback, coming off the back of a successful residency in Las Vegas. “She’s ready to do something massive,” the source stated.

“She’s definitely doing a part in the Super Bowl halftime show next year. The details haven’t totally been worked out yet, but it will be huge.” Britney does of course have established Super Bowl pedigree - she was one of many performers at the 2001 half-time event, alongside Aerosmith, ‘NSYNC, Nelly and Mary J Blige.

It’s the fiftieth edition of the Super Bowl next year, so it makes sense for the NFL to be planning the entertainment a long time ahead of the landmark game. The inside source also believes that Britney will be joined by a host of fellow stars – which may well include Miley Cyrus, as the pair share the same management team.

33 year old singer Britney, one of the pop icons of the noughties, has enjoyed a well-received run of shows at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Recently, she committed to extending the ‘Britney: Piece Of Me’ shows through 2017.

Currently, she is enjoying a break from performing the shows and has been spotted in the company of her ex-husband Kevin Federline, and has been spending time with her sons Jayden and Preston. Her current romance with reality TV producer Charlie Ebserosol (32) is going well, with Britney intimating that she’d like to get married again.
