Brooke Shields was convinced George Michael wrote Careless Whisper about her as the singer released the song after they split up.
The model/actress briefly dated the Wham! star before he 'came out' as gay, and she has revealed he broke up with her in the back of a limousine after a night out.
Shields admits she thought Michael wanted to become intimate with her in the back of the car when he abruptly ended the romance.
She tells British TV host Jonathan Ross, "He said to the driver to drive around for a bit. I was like, 'This is it, it's going to happen. It's going to be in the back of a limo and it's going to be with Wham!'
"And the partition went up and then he said to me, 'I think we need to take a break, I need to concentrate on my career'. And I was like, 'Oh'. I was so heartbroken."
The singer went on to release his famous ballad Careless Whisper in 1984, and Shields believed he had written the song about her.
She adds, "I went back to college and when I heard the song (lyric) 'Never going to dance again' I thought it was about me," she added.
