Childhood: Bruno Mars was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents are of Puerto Rican and Filipino descent. He was given the nickname 'Bruno' as a child, after the wrestler Bruno Sammartino. Mars was one of six children and his family was a musical one. As a result, he grew up with a variety of music, such as Elvis Presley, The Isley Brothers and Michael Jackson. In 1992, he went on to have a cameo in Honeymoon in Vegas, starring James Caan and Nicolas Cage. After graduating from President Theodore Roosevelt High School, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a musical career.
Career: Bruno Mars began his music career by writing songs for artists such as Alexandra Burke, Brandy and Sean Kingston. He also wrote Flo Rida's hit 'Right Round' and Sugababes' 'Get Sexy'. Two of his biggest co-writing credits were B.o.B's 'Nothin' on You' and Travis McCoy's 'Billionaire', both of which were top 10 hits around the world. Mars capitalised on his success as a songwriter by releasing his debut solo EP entitled 'It's Better If You Don't Understand' , which featured the single 'The Other Side', with B.o.B and Cee Lo Green on vocals. At the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, Bruno Mars performed 'Airplanes' with B.o.B and Hayley Williams of the band Paramore. Bruno Mars' debut album, entitled Doo-Wops & Hooligans, was released in October 2010. The lead single, 'Just the Way You Are' performed well in the US charts. Damian Marley features on the track 'Liquor Store Blues'. Following the release of the album, Mars planned a tour with Maroon 5 as well as dates with Travie McCoy. In 2012, Mars released the album Unorthodox Jukebox to positive reviews.
Personal Life: In 2013, Mars was reported as the 12th richest musician in the world, due to his 18 million USD earnings.
The new mom had been due to play 24 dates with Mars on his North American tour in September.
A few weeks after welcoming her first baby into the world, Cardi B has announced that she’s decided to cancel all of her upcoming autumn tour dates with Bruno Mars, admitting that she’s “underestimated this whole mommy thing”.
The chart-topping rapper gave birth to a baby girl named Kulture earlier this month on July 10th, with her husband Offset from hip-hop trio Migos. Cardi had been due to hook up with Bruno Mars for the North American leg of his 24K Magic tour in the autumn, but she’s not ready to leave her baby at such a young age.
“I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that six weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically,” the 25 year old star told her fans on Instagram. “I also thought that I'd be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.”
Mars was performing at Glasgow Green on Tuesday night when a stray pyrotechnic malfunctioned and caused a small fire on the lighting rig.

The American pop icon was four songs into his set at Glasgow Green, Scotland, on Tuesday evening (July 10th) as he finishes up the European leg of his 24K Magic world tour, when an on-stage pyrotechnic malfunctioned and caused the lighting rig to be set ablaze.
Eyewitnesses said that Mars stopped in the middle of his performance, quickly apologised to fans and hurried off stage, leaving fire crews to quickly extinguish the fire. According to Glasgow Live, nobody was hurt and the entire delay lasted only eight minutes. Eyewitnesses told Entertainment Tonight: “They lowered [a] lighting rig and used fire extinguishers to put something out that was on stage.”

The 'Uptown Funk' singer has teamed up with the 25-year-old rapper on a reworked version of his 2016 single - taken from his album '24K Magic' - and delivered a video inspired by Jim Carrey's 1990s sketch comedy show 'In Living Color'.
