Godzilla was a huge hit for Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros
Edwards' version, starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, took more than $500 million worldwide and a sequel is already planned for 2018. Toho says the forthcoming movie - the 28th in the series - would be the last.

Paul remembers the dark, broke days
Having landed the role of a lifetime as Jesse Pinkman – Breaking Bad’s lovable surrogate child to Bryan Cranston’s Walter White – a summer aged 27 could have seen the end of his acting career.
Packing up his car for the 800-odd drive to L.A from Idaho, Paul was embarking on a journey he could never forsee, kicking off with his first big role: Amanda Seyfried’s boyfriend in HBO’s Big Love. That earned him around $600. His parents had to fit the bill for his rent, three months in a row. Luckily, his relationship with his mother and father was better than Jesse’s with his.
Cranston, Paul and Louis-Dreyfus combine in this hilarious video
Julia Louis-Dreyfus attempted to sell her Primetime Emmy Award to Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, who now work as owners of a seedy pawnshop called Barley Legal. You have no idea how much we want that whole sentence to be true, but it’s not.

It is, in fact, a spot sponsored by Audi of America for the Emmys. It sees Dreyfus try and drum up some quick cash to pay for a regrettable purchase. "I read somewhere that Celine Dion has her own island, and last night I had a little bit too much rosé, did some online shopping, so now I have to pay for my own island," she explains in the video.

A look into TV's biggest moments on Twitter according to Nielsen. Are you surprised?
An awesome thing about television is that social media exists. You can watch people freak out over the latest death in a show and share your pain with others when the season is finally over. An awful thing about television is that social media exists. You can watch people freak out over the latest death in a show that you haven’t caught up on, spoiling it for you, and share your hatred with others when they just tweeted about the cliffhanger to a finale that you’re currently DVRing because you’re stuck at your girlfriend’s family party.
Clearly, I’m still bitter about that. Anyway, point is that, like it or not, Twitter has been monumental when it comes to television, and it’s hardly just an accessory. Would ‘Breaking Bad’ be as huge as it was without the constant word of mouth on Twitter? ‘Breaking Bad’ happens to be this television season’s most talked about show on the social networking site, as reported by Nielsen.

The Breaking Bad actor wins his first Tony Award
Is Bryan Cranston the most adaptable actor in Hollywood? Having goofed around with slapstick in 'Malcolm in The Middle,' struggled with the perils of right and wrong in 'Breaking Bad' and fought the system in 'Godzilla', the 58-year-old actor picked up a Tony Award for his portrayal of former President of The United States, Lyndon Johnson, in 'All the Way' on Saturday (June 7).

The accolade extends Cranston’s remarkable winning streak which has seen him pick up Emmys, Golden Globes and SAGs for his memorable turn as Walter White, the chemistry teacher-turned-drug empire lynchpin with an unquenchable appetite for power and a seemingly irresistible urge for revenge.
The 58 year-old actor has left many fans confused about the fate of meth kingpin Walter White. "Hey, you never saw bags zip up or anything," he speculated on whether or not his character died.
Bryan Cranston dropped a huge bombshell on 'Breaking Bad' fans on Thursday (May 29th).
The 58 year-old actor may have changed many fans' minds as to what actually happened at the end of the AMC hit series.
Cranston confessed that the fate of meth king pin Walter White, who he played, is very debatable.
Walter White survived? Bryan Cranston suggests Breaking Bad ending wasn't as clear as it seemed.
Bryan Cranston dropped meth lab sized bombshell on the whole Breaking Bad ending this week, by suggesting that Walter White may well not be dead. The drug kingpin appeared to run out of luck at the end of AMC's classic drama, though whilst promoting his new action flick Godzilla on Thursday (May 29, 2014), Cranston told CNN's Ashleigh Banfield that Heisenberg may have lived through those final moments.

In the concluding moments of Breaking Bad, cancer-sufferer Walter - bleeding from a gunshot - collapsed on the floor of a DIY meth lab as the police narrowed in on him. However, Cranston suggested the chemistry-teacher may have survived.

Chart-crushing blues rock and building-smashing monster movie antics: another week in news brings shocks and laughs.
Cannes Continues: We're nearly at the end of the second week of the Cannes Film Festival and have been mentally noting which new movies have soared or been scorched at the hands of critics. Map to the Stars, Two Days, One Night, Mommy and Foxcatcher have all received glowing reviews whilst Lost River, Grace of Monaco, and The Search... well, less so. Click on links for reviews highlights and details for each movie.
Carter-Knowles Camp Content?: The Jay Z/Solange brouhaha confusion still hasn't been publically illuminated but the Carter-Knowles family seems to be intent on proving to the world that everything is just fine, fine, fine, thank you very much after footage leaked showing the singer attacking her rapper brother-in-law in a lift. Beyoncé's statement did little to explain her sister's violence but her newly-posted family photos do a good job of sweeping it all under the rug, for better or worse.
Paul isn't alone in thinking that...
Aaron Paul played fan-favourite Jesse in Breaking Bad, the AMC sleeper hit that would become one of the most talked about shows of all time. During its run, the meth drama dominated the Internet, especially during season 5 when fandom and viewership reached an all time high.
Jesse Pinkman and Walter White suit up for another cook in AMC's 'Breaking Bad'
TV’s history is dominated by a few key moments, and not many are bigger than the introduction of the slow-burning, multi season American drama, exploring themes of loneliness, economic deprivation, crime corruption and, above all, family. The Sopranos paved the way, and, alongside shows like The Wire, Mad Men, The West Wing and Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad sits amidst that pantheon.

It was inevitable really: everybody loves a good monster.
Silence the doubters! Godzilla has smashed its way to the top of the box office, having earned a monstrous $93.2m on its first weekend. Gareth Edwards' gloomy new take on the popular Japanese tale of a radioactive monster put fellow opener Million Dollar Arm in the dark, leaving the Jon Hamm Disney sports drama a token $10.5 million.
'Godzilla' Stormed Its Way To Box Office No.1 This Weekend With A $93 Million Opening.
Meanwhile, the Zac Efron-starring comedy Neighbors was pushed down to second in its second week with nearly $26 million in takings - a figure far shy of Godzilla's monster haul - whilst the superhero action sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, clung on to the top three with a confident third week figure of $16.8 million.
Take a vote in the poll below!
Godzilla has barley finished trampling America’s box offices and the gargantuan daikaiju is still to wreak havoc over in China and Japan – a huge market, especially given the origins of the franchise. But Warner Bros. and Legendary are already thinking about what a sequel could do, and they obviously think it could do plenty as one is in the works.
Gareth Edwards’ effort, which sees Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanbe, Juliette Binoche and Bryan Cranston head a stellar cast, has already made $200m worldwide making it 2014’s biggest opener so far. Sure, ‘X-Men Days of Future Past’ and ‘Transformers: Extinction’ will likely ensure ‘Godzilla’ doesn’t finish the year with that mantle, but it’s an encouraging start for a film that was, for a while mentioned with apprehension.

The monster movie of the century? Box office stats point to "yes".
It isn’t a surprise that Godzilla is doing well at the box office, but the amount it’s earned over the weekend tops all initial estimates. With $93 million made over the three-day period, it’s safe to call this the first blockbuster of the summer season.
The critics weren't particularly impressed by Godzilla, but that din't stop it from having a killer opening weekend.
