With the new 'Power Rangers' movie coming to cinemas this week, Bryan Cranston reflects on his first forays into the original franchise, where he got to voice some of the villains in the 90s TV series 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers'. It's safe to say he's glad to be back.

The 'Breaking Bad' star plays the character Zordon in the 2017 'Power Rangers' movie; the million-year-old mentor of the teen superheroes who is much less a person than a shape in the Morphing Grid. However, his original ventures into the world of 'Power Rangers' meant voicing bad guys in the television series.

'I got a job dubbing some of the dialogue from Japanese into English and I was glad to have that job', he revealed. 'My voice, even though I was much younger, it was always still kind of low so I always did the monsters: 'You will not escape me!' That kind of thing.'

His short stint included voicing the characters Twinman and Snizard in two 1993 episodes entitled 'A Bad Reflection on You' and 'Foul Play in the Sky' respectively. 'It was fun to do, it was also my introduction to being able to convey a story through just your voice', he continued.

'How do you convey emotion - anger, upset, dejection, glee, whatever - through just your voice? That was a great learning experience, I was really grateful to have the job too. That was a long time ago.' Since then, Bryan has lent his voice to many dubbed shows including 'Macross Plus', 'Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie' and 'Armitage III'.
