Bryan Singer is due to return to helm 'X-Men: Apocalypse', according to Simon Kinberg.
Bryan Singer will direct 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.
The filmmaker is returning to helm the next chapter of the mutant superhero movie, despite being hit with two sexual abuse lawsuits in recent months.
Asked whether Singer would be back, producer Simon Kinberg told the Daily Beast: ''That's the plan.''
The follow-up film to current blockbuster 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' - which has made $302 million at the global box-office - is set to focus primarily on the younger generation of superheroes, including Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique and James McAvoy's Professor X, but will also feature the older characters like Sir Ian McKellen's Magneto.
Kinberg said: ''It will focus primarily on the 'First Class' cast, but it will certainly have some of the original cast involved, too.''
Singer strenuously denies claims he sexually abused two men when they were teenagers and Kinberg naturally refused to comment on the allegations.
The producer added: ''Well, I don't really want to speak on anything outside the movie, but I believe Bryan created the template for the modern superhero movie.
''I remember where I was when I saw 'X-Men,' and I thought he redefined the way people made comic book films.''
'X-Men: Apocalypse' is set for release on May 27, 2016.
