Jade Goody battled a Bush fire with buckets of water while on holiday in the Caribbean, according to reports.

The Big Brother contestant was away with her family at a villa and the buildings suffered smoke damage, forcing Goody, her boyfriend Jack Tweed and her two children out of the property.

Goody was taking a break from the UK after her stint inside the Celebrity Big Brother house which saw her embroiled in a racism row involving the eventual winner Shilpa Shetty.

After the fire, Goody was quoted by the Sun as saying: "I came for a nice relaxing holiday and end up having to put out fires in my own back garden. It was really scary."

The 25-year-old spotted flames moving up her driveway at the weekend and her boyfriend phoned the fire brigade. Goody and her family are now staying at another resort.

The former Big Brother housemate first appeared on TV screens in 2002 when she featured in the Channel 4 reality series.

She has since published an autobiography and launched a fitness DVD as well as a perfume range, which was a bestseller in the run-up to Christmas 2006.

Goody also had a shot at completing the London Marathon, managing 18.5 miles before dropping out.
