Introducing Caitlyn Jenner; the new matriarch of the Kardashian clan and the best cover model Vanity Fair has ever had. Bruce Jenner finally unveils her real self in a brave magazine shoot that has no doubt brought the nation to joyful tears.

If you scrolled past the Vanity Fair cover photo of Caitlyn Jenner on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter thinking, 'I have no idea who this person is or why everybody loves her', you're not the only one. After a double, triple, quadruple take, it soon dawned on us that those cheekbones and sparkling brown eyes looked remarkably familiar. Bruce Jenner has seriously shocked the world with the transformation into his real self (or her real self) Caitlyn; and she looks absolutely incredible.

We'd forgotten that she was going to make an appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair, and it seems her stepson Robert Kardashian was equally nonplussed when he received the picture in a text from sister Kim Kardashian. His initial response, according to Kim who spoke to Access Hollywood, was: 'Kim, why are you sending me this? Who is this woman and why do I care?' before being told it was his so-called stepfather and exclaiming: 'Oh my god, she's beautiful.'

We have to say, we agree. Showing off her toned arms and legs after years of being an Olympic decathlon star, Caitlyn donned what looked like a white bodysuit with a corseted top teamed with natural make-up and a mass of voluminous brunette curls in pictures shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Miley Cyrus, who's supporting LGBT rights with her new charity the Happy Hippie Foundation, took to Instagram to share the cover photo, commenting 'I [heart] Caitlyn!!!!' Meanwhile, Kim posted an inspiring message on Twitter, captioning the photo with, 'How beautiful! Be happy, be proud, live life YOUR way!'

More stars to show their support included James Franco, Lady Gaga, Lena Dunham, Ellen Degeneres and, of course, 'Orange Is The New Black' star Laverne Cox whose own male to female transition was a huge step in Hollywood, especially when she became the first transgender celebrity to pose nude for the annual Allure 'Nudes' issue.

As if she couldn't get non-conforming enough, we also love how it's Caitlyn with a 'C' - not a 'K'.
