Pop music fans have gone into meltdown with speculation that Calvin Harris’ brand new single ‘My Way’ is a diss track aimed at his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

The Scottish DJ, who broke up with Swift back in June this year just before the whole ‘Hiddleswift’ saga became a thing, dropped the new track on Thursday (September 15th). Immediately, he had the Twittersphere ablaze with rumours that the lyrics were addressing the split. Harris, 32, discussed the new song the same day in an interview with iHeartRadio.

“[The] song's kind of about breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing. Then you're way more comfortable out of it. And it could be anything. It could be a job or it could be a relationship.”

Clearly, this sounds like a break-up song in all but name, but Harris then claimed that he’d actually been thinking about the track for a while before his break-up with Swift.

“I kind of had the idea for the concept for a few years, but I didn't know how to work out how it sounded,” he added.

The song’s lyrics include the lines: “Why wait to say / at least I did it my way? / Lie awake two faced / but in my heart I understand,” and “I made my move and it was all about you / I feel so far removed / You are the one thing in my way.”

26 year old Swift hit English actor Tom Hiddleston on the rebound in June, as they were photographed together in various locations around the world in what seemed to be a whirlwind romance. However, the two went their separate ways just as quickly as they had gotten together, breaking up in early September.

In July, it was revealed that Swift had written the lyrics to Harris’ hit with Rihanna, ‘This Is What You Came For’, earlier this summer. Harris then launched a social media rant against his ex, but quickly said he regretted it.

“It was completely the wrong instinct. I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled,” he told GQ this month.
