Looks like the 69th Cannes Film Festival is going to be a good one! There's plenty to look forward to in both the In Competition and Out Of Competition categories for 2016, not least with the opening title being Woody Allen's romantic drama 'Cafe Society' starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart.

'Cafe Society' isn't the only movie from this year's Cannes line-up that Kristen Stewart will appear in either, because she also has the lead role in Olivier Assayas' fashion drama 'Personal Shopper' which will appear among the In Competition flicks. Xavier Dolan's 'Juste La Fin Du Monde' ('It's Only the End of the World') starring Léa Seydoux and Marion Cotillard is another French movie from that category.

Some of the other favourites in competition are Sean Penn's first directorial stint in nearly 10 years, 'The Last Face' with ex-partner Charlize Theron; award-winning filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn's ('Only God Forgives') new thriller 'The Neon Demon' featuring Keanu Reeves; and Jeff Nichols ('Mud') with his intense drama 'Loving' starring Joel Edgerton. Then 'Oldboy' director Park Chan-Wook is back with a new South Korean drama 'The Handmaiden' (also called 'Agassi') which is a take on Sarah Waters's novel 'Fingersmith'. Oscar winning director Andrea Arnold brings her new comedy drama 'American Honey' with Shia LaBeouf among the cast into the competition also, alongside Jim Jarmusch's 'Paterson' starring Adam Driver.

As for the out of competition flicks, Steven Spielberg will premiere his hugely anticipated Disney movie 'The BFG', and Jodie Foster brings her latest filmmaking venture 'Money Monster' - starring George Clooney - to the festival. 'Iron Man 3' director Shane Black unveils 70s crime thriller 'The Nice Guys' with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, while Na Hong-Jin unleashes another South Korean thriller, 'Goksung'.

The 69th Cannes Film Festival will be on from May 11th to 22nd 2016.
