Cara Delevingne has revealed it felt ''horrible'' to know she could lose out on top modelling jobs if she gained weight or was spotted out partying.
Cara Delevingne says the modelling industry is ''horrible''.
The 22-year-old beauty has revealed she despises the pressures put on girls to stay stick thin and used to get ''angry'' when people threatened to drop her from jobs if she was spotted looking weightier or enjoying a night out.
She said: ''It's horrible living in a world where I'll get a call from someone saying, so-and-so says you were partying a lot and you were looking this way and you need to lose weight. It makes me so angry. If you don't want to hire me, don't hire me.''
Cara - who was inspired to try her hand at modelling after her elder sister Poppy, 29, started landing jobs while she was studying at school - insists being in front of the camera didn't come naturally to her at first and likened herself to a caged animal.
She joked: ''I was like an animal in a cage.I didn't know where the camera was, and I would just move around.''
The star - who is now making a name for herself in Hollywood having appeared in 'Anna Karenina' and 'The Face of an Angel' and is set to star in 'Pan' and 'Paper Towns' this year - believes her modelling background has made the transition all the more difficult.
She told the Wall Street Journal magazine: ''With acting, the last thing you do is try to look pretty. Modelling actually makes acting harder - it makes you so self-aware.''
