Model, actress and now novelist, Cara Delevingne is adding another string to her bow.
Cara Delevingne has announced she’s written her first novel, titled Mirror Mirror and it’s due out in October.
The model and actress made the announcement on Instagram, describing the book as a “twisty coming-of-age story” about sixteen year old friends Red, Leo, Naima and Rose.
“Another pinch me moment!!” Cara captioned a photo of herself holding a draft of the novel on Instagram. “Announcing my first novel Mirror, Mirror, coming out this October! SO EXCITED !!!
“I love these characters so much,” she continued, “I love what they stand for, what this story represents. The process of putting this novel together has been life changing and something I hold really close to my heart!! I cannot wait to share with everyone!”
Cara added that she hopes to start ‘one big virtual book club’, where she can talk to fans about ‘self discovery, friendship, pain, triumph! Being a teenager!! The experiences that shape YOU!”

Mirror Mirror is already available to pre-order on Amazon now, ahead of its release on October 5. The book’s Amazon blurb reveals that the four friends are in a band together until one day Naima ‘dies in tragic circumstances leaving behind only one word: Sorry’.
‘What awful truth was she hiding?’ the blurb continues. ‘What dark secret was lurking behind her seemingly sunny persona? And how did Red, the self-styled protector of the group, fail to spot the warning signs?’.
Speaking to Vogue, the book’s publisher Anna Valentine said the model wanted to write a book that resonated with her audience. “She has an enormous following and is incredibly in touch with her followers,” Valentine said.
“She wanted to write a book that dealt with issues young people face today, and that was the thing that was really exciting for us.” According to the Evening Standard, a second draft of the book is due by the end of this month before its release in October.
