The Paper Towns star recently denied reports she was stepping away from modelling to focus on her acting career, but it appears she's having second thoughts about posing for photographers or strutting her stuff on the catwalk ever again after recalling her early days as a model in a candid new interview with The Times.

The 23 year old says, "Modelling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while. It didn't make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was... I felt so old.

"I was (also), like, fight and flight for months. Just constantly on edge. It is a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse."

And her stress-related psoriasis made her feel terrible every time she set foot on a catwalk: "People would put on gloves and not want to touch me because they thought it was, like, leprosy or something."

In addition to the stress, the actress also struggled with having to be overtly sexual while posing for campaigns at a young age.

She adds, "I am a bit of a feminist and it makes me feel sick. It's horrible and it's disgusting. (We're talking about) young girls. You start when you are really young and you do, you get subjected to... not great stuff."
