Carly Rae Jepsen turned up at the Tropicana Field on Sunday night (July 14, 2013) to throw the first pitch of the Ray's home game - and it was awful. A video that's on the verge on going viral shows the whole damn thing, with the 'Call Me Maybe' pop singer seemingly forgetting to let go of the ball at the appropriate time, launching it into the turf and watching as it squirted away to the left.

Met a lot of lovelies at this game today! Go Rays! :D by @carlyraejepsen

Embarrassed, Jepsen, 27, covered her face, laughed and threw her hands up in the end. Still in high spirits, she even posted a series of images on Instagram, saying, "A before and after. Me taking the mound. Me knocking the camera out of the photographers hands with the baseball. And me getting a sympathy hug from the catcher. Omg."

Luckily, none of the Rays players copied Jepsen's techniques and the team ran out 5-0 winners of the Houston Astros.

Of course, this wouldn't be a genuine pop-star-does-something-stupid-at-sporting-event story without a look back at Diana Ross's howler at the 1994 World Cup Finals in the United States. All Diana had to do was the hit the back of the net from around 5 yards, at which point it was crumble apart and look really cool. Sounds easy right? Of course, the whole thing doesn't work too well if the ball veers off the left and misses the goal by 10 yards. Can you guess what happened?
