Richard Cowles ITV Studios’s Creative Director confirmed the show would return, saying: “We couldn't be more proud of the show which has found its perfect match in ITV2. Rosemary Newell, Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions for ITV, added: “Love Island has come back so strong this year, and become unmissable viewing, particularly with younger viewers, which is our focus on ITV2. As six weeks of hugely entertaining television come to a close, we’re delighted to be bringing the show back for a another run next year.”

But fans are left wondering if Caroline Flack will be back next year to host the show, as she only made a few appearances this series. Flack also came under criticism from viewers on Twitter, who were less than impressed with her presenting skills.

Last night one viewer tweeted: “The only downfall of #LoveIsland is how terrible Caroline Flack is as a presenter.” While another added: “Ugh, Caroline Flack is so desperate it's cringey.” Earlier this year Flack lost her job as host of ITV’s ‘X Factor’ after just one series.
