The Forget You hitmaker was slated to play a concert in Jerusalem on 19 August (14), but has decided to follow suit with artists such as Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Paul Anka and Backstreet Boys in calling the gig off.
Israel show promoter Carmi D. Wurtman confirms the cancellation to The Hollywood Reporter and says, "The artist and his crew really wanted to come, but unfortunately we were the ones who had to postpone it because this is not the right time to advertise and push a concert and also because Israel Defense Forces' regional Home Front Command allows gathering of up to a thousand people only."
Plans are underway to reschedule the concert at the city's Independence Park for this autumn (14).
The upcoming Hadera River Park's BoomBox Festival, featuring headliner Wyclef Jean, has also been delayed, but thrash-metal band Megadeth have decided to go on with their concert on Wednesday (06Aug14) at Tel Aviv's convention centre.
