Latin icon Celia Cruz was remembered by fans who visited her mausoleum in New York's Woodlawn Cemetery on the 10th anniversary of her death on Tuesday (16Jul13).

Woodlawn Memorial historian Cristiana Pena selected the singer's tunes Quimbara, Cucala and La vida es un carnaval to be played at her burial site as fans attended the memorial that was organised by officials at the Celia Cruz Foundation.

Rafael Rodriguez, who was among the fans present, says, "I am the first to come every year and bring her flowers. I can't believe it's already been 10 years."

Cruz rose to fame in the 1950s in Cuba. She passed away in 2003 from brain cancer at the age of 77.
