Celine Dion is temprorarily postponing her return to ger hugely successful Las Vegas residency to be with her husband, René Angélil and focus on her own health as well. Angelil had a tumor removed from his throat back in December, while the singer herself is still battling an illness, which causes an inflammation in her throat and prevents her from performing.

Dion has not been performing since June.

While the residency has suffered, but will likely be rescheduled as soon as Dion recovers, her Asia tour has been axed entirely. Dion was set to perform four dates in Japan – in Nagoya, Osaka and two in Tokyo, as well as two dates in Taipei (Taiwan). Several other dates had been reported – two in China (Shanghai and Macau), one in the Philippines (Manila) and one in Singapore, but only the Manila date had been confirmed officially.

Upon cancelling all scheduled shows, Dion released the following statement on her official website: “I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.”

Dion, who celebrates her 20th wedding anniversary in December, added, "I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."

Dion announced her Asia tour in June, but it was a big month in other ways. She reportedly lost her voice during the same month and it also marked Angelil’s departure as her manager.

"Considering our long-standing friendship, our mutual respect, and our past collaborations, this was a logical step for all of us," he said of the diva, 46.
