Celine Dion debuted her emotional new song ‘Recovering’ during the annual 'Stand Up To Cancer' televised fundraising event on Friday evening. The powerful ballad was penned for Dion by singer Pink, as a tribute to her late husband Rene Angelil, who passed away from cancer in January.

The song’s heartfelt lyrics read: “Little by little, day by day/ One step at a time/ Shake up the devil, oh/ Take back my peace of mind/ Tell him I love him, yeah/ Take back my peace of mind.” On Friday Dion dedicated her performance to not only her husband, but also her brother and father who she also lost to cancer.

Speaking about the song to Entertainment Tonight, Dion said: "Pink wrote me a song. She is phenomenal. I love her for her talent, for her strength, for her focus, the person she is. At the Billboard Music Awards when I saw her, I said, 'For you to take the time to really write a song, to give me a tool, a piece of luggage to help me to move forward to walk to keep going…”

The singer also opened up about how her fans have helped her get through Rene’s passing. "I think I do have a relationship with my fans that are [pushing] me [along]," she said. "They've been such supporters of my good days and my bad days.”
