Channing Tatum has made a pretty bold claim when it comes to his parenting skills. “I’m solid at diaper changing!” the Magic Mike actor revealed in an interview. He added: “If a guy isn’t good at changing a diaper I don’t know what he’s there for really, because for the first seven months or so, the mom is the end-all, be-all of everything.”

Channing and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum met on set of their 2006 movie Step Up and began dating soon after. They married in 2009 and on May 31 2013 their daughter Everly was born in London. “[Everly] does not like sitting still but I can [change the diaper] even when she’s crawling, standing up, doing the whole thing.”

Although Tatum has bragged about his mad diaper-changing skills, he does admit that there are a few little parenting accidents every now and then: “There’s always mishaps. The whole day is just a big ol’ mishap. I find it really fun. It’s always a different thing every day. Watching her experience things for the first time is amazing. She just saw a kite for the first time the other day and was just, like, “What? What is it?” It was crazy.”

Tatum is currently starring in the well-received 22 Jump Street with Jonah Hill and in autumn his forthcoming film Foxhunter will be released.
