Channing Tatum trained for ''a few years'' to perfect his moves for 'Magic Mike'.

The star - who features in the stripper flick alongside the likes of Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer - has revealed it takes years of training to perfect the dance moves used in the flick.

He said: ''You have to start with the hand! Then the body flows. And then you have to train for a few years ...''

And the 35-year-old actor - who loosely based the 'Magic Mike' story on himself - has insisted there is more to the movie than the dancing.

He told German newspaper Bild: ''It's about big boys who are desperate to find out what women actually want.

''They want friendship and happiness in their lives. A home, where someone you love is waiting for you, is more important than any one-night-stand.''

Meanwhile, Channing previously admitted he would love to do a third instalment of films if someone offered him an idea.

He told BANG Showbiz: ''Look, if someone has an idea then email me, cause I don't.

''If anyone on the internet likes any ideas, just go for it and write it because I don't know if I can write it because I'm pretty dry now on all my actual real life experiences.

''With the first movie, I had no idea it was going to get the kind of reception that it did, we were just insanely happy that we got to do it all again.''
